My son does detailing on the side and took me up to a local shop “Detailing World”
He spent about $230 for supplies for his business and I wasn’t planning to get anything. Well…. After looking around for while I decided to try some HydroSilex products. I bought 16oz rewind, 16oz recharge, 16oz wheel cleaner, 32oz recharge interior, 32oz glass cleaner, 32oz silica soap, 32oz slick tire shine, 1 gallon of Americana Mystic, 4 window towels, and a tire applicator for $239.00

Went home and decided to try them out. Sprayed the wheel cleaner on, Got the power washer and foam canon out and gave her a bath and dry. Then went on to use the rewind to strip any old products. Sprayed all surfaces including windows and tonneau cover with the recharge and wiped and then buffed… did this twice. Finished with the tire shine and interior recharge. I barely used any of the products with the exception of the Recharge and rewind. I ended up using about 8oz off the recharge and maybe 4oz of the rewind. I applied the recharge via the dry method and probably should have waited for the 1st coat to fully cure before adding a 2nd coat. Might have used too much Recharge too.
    Opinions please.
So far I’m happy with the results. The Hydrosilex Recharge leaves a nice shine and slick surface. My truck is only a couple months old, and has never looked or felt this good. Hopefully it lasts a while. I’ll try and post pictures tomorrow when the sun is out. Any tips for a newbie would also be appreciated.
    Thanks

When you say your truck "never felt this good"....are you referring to slickness of the pant? Did you do any decontamination and/or correction prior to applying the Recharge? If I read your post correctly, you applied two coats of Recharge and you used 8 ounces?

Yes, Slickness. Even from day 1 from the dealer, the truck did not feel slick at all. The Dealers detailers were very bad. I expressed my concern when I picked it up and they ended up adding in their Zurich Coating and Warranty at no cost. Even after their Zurich coating was applied, it did not feel slick. I truly think they just washed it and gave me the warranty saying it was applied.

I washed it with the HydroSilex Soap then applied their Rewind (Paint correction) which strips all the old waxes and products.
Then I applied 2 coats of the Refresh which was about 8oz.

Most paint coatings are not slick. They make up for it with durability, gloss and protection. Hydrosilex Rewind is a panel prep, much like CarPro ERaser or Wolfgang Perfekt Finish. When I mentioned paint correction, I was asking if any compounding and/or polishing had been done to remove defects. You're very fortunate if you did not have any to remove, especially after it had been through the dealership detail department.

I'm curious about Hydrosilex products.....please keep us posted and let us know how it holds up.
