Yours turned out great! Are you going to board tape the top for traction? Or is it not too bad?

I didn't have to bend anything. But did find those rearmost ones to be the most fussy to get started. Bottle jacked it up tight and tipped the bracket/bolts slightly until they were started, then it all clinched down square and tight. The driver's side/gas tank area was the most challenging, woulda been impossible without the custom brackets SDHQ dreamt up for that spot. Definitely have to read the instructions for that one!

Good thought on that cab mount bracket. I was fortunate to have my 14 year old son helping. His long, skinny fingers fit inside the cab mount just far enough to put downward pressure on it... ;)

    PS. I agree. ;)

Good call wrong side. I do have a hunk of board tape. Also planning to add a few discreet pieces of black 3M reflective tape.
How in the world did you get the driver side gas tank bolts in?. I am waiting to run the tank low and loosen it so I can get the last one. I don't get how you can tip the sliders, they are a pretty tight fit once on the frame rail I barely had to hold them.
Still happy. These are incredibly strong and well made.
Hahaha yeah those special bolt holders are slick.

Thanks for the feedback guys! We like to hear what everybody thinks. Everything on those are made 100% in house with the SDHQ fit and finish.

I had no intention of leading you astray and I did not have any help! Takes me several minutes literally to get down and flop over onto my creeper because of all the fused and metal parts I've got. Glad you got it done! It's nice having 'em on the truck isn't it? Mine came a little late though, I've already got damage to the bottom of the passenger door on the drivers side.

How well will these work as steps for kids getting in and out of the truck? Mine is lifted about 2" and it's tough to get in and out for the kids and wife.

I have them on my Tundra, I use them to get in and my truck has a 3" lift. I generally don't use them to get out because I just slide out. Hopefully some of the other guys on here throw in their opinions.

Absolutely. It wasn't a real priority when i got them- I dumped nerf bars in favour of protection and clearance of sliders- but these make a much better step than I expected. My wife is happy. My teenage boys were fine before, but like the step too.

My truck is ~2" higher than most stock Tundras.

I'll give them a solid 8 of 10 for use as a step and only because all surfaces are round. Suggest you add a piece of skateboard grip tape in strategic places, that works really well when the paint is wet. If you need a link to purchase just shout and I'll abide.

And anyone wondering how these work for steps... they work just as well as my nerf bars did. I put some skateboard tape on them and no more slipping. They're slightly higher, but my 7 year old daughter gets in and out without a problem. Damn, I love these things.

Was Ryan driving the cement color four door over the weekend?

I saw it at Fry's and walked up to it to take a look at the sliders and well the tints pretty dark so I couldn't tell, but the engine was running and I didn't want to be that awkward person gawking over their truck while they're sitting in it... luckily I think he was just watching me be awkward while he was getting some ice cream at Baskin Robbins
