I didn't bid on either of the trucks, was never "butthurt" about being "outbid". What I wanted to do is order a truck of the trim that I wanted, not the two allocated for December. I was willing to wait a few months to get it too. The problem is because of these two, I can't even do that without agreeing to the 10k mark up. Its not that they got it first or outbid me, it's that they moved the starting line for everyone looking to buy a truck in the area. Everyone who goes through this dealership just got hit with a 10k mark up because those to offered it without it being asked. Everyone in this area who doesn't agree to that now has to find another dealership not marking them up and get in line there. So yeah they screwed everyone over here.

Which is why they are referred to as a "Stealership" I bet.

And you did start a thread saying to "Stop being Stupid"?

I bet you just forgot that they were snakes before picking one up.

That sucks. I get it. But isn't it also kinda like finding out that water is wet? Sit back with the rest of us, make some popcorn, and enjoy not being part of that crapshow until the insanity subsides.

Yeah, I'm sure every single truck that dealership sells for the rest of its existence is going to be marked up by $10k. That's exactly how it works...

I agree. except the market isn't truly free. The manufacture doesn't get any extra money from these markups. Government is forcing these directly into the re-sale market from the get go.

Keep shopping around, there are plenty of dealers in that area. Tell them you are not paying over MSRP and if they want your business knowing that, call.

That's why you always get it in writing rather than relying on a verbal commitment. It's true for any business agreement, but even more so when dealing with a car stealership.
Caveat emptor... Let the buyer beware

If this upsets you don’t look at the real estate market in 2/3 of the country.

We all know the bubble will burst. The high cost for autos, homes, boats, RVs will equalize eventually....There will be balance in the Force

This is the by product of a debtor nation (us) allowing central banks to issue debt and create trillions of dollars (that doesn’t really exist) to buy that debt without a corresponding increase in goods and services. Debt is cheap (and unfortunately incentivized) and all those new dollars are competing for fewer things.

I wish. There are 7 generally in the area. Autonation doesn't know anything. Central FL Toyota doesn't know anything. Toyota of Orlando/Clermont won't say anything until they get pricing and was pissed when I said I know pricing, just wanted to know if they were marketing up. Phillips Toyota knows what they are getting, don't know prices, don't know what they are doing on pricing. Parks Toyota nobody bothered to answer the phone. Seminole is the one selling at 10k over. Working my way around dealerships on the space coast now and then Tampa side next.

I am told that the Asbury Stores are not supposed to sell above MSRP ever.
They own a lot of stores.
Check and see if there are any in your area.

Looks like Courtesy in Brandon and Coggin in Jacksonville are theres

This is true. If it isn't in writing, it never happened. That's why I don't call any dealerships. Emails for everything. I want the paper trail.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Oh and this equalization is going to be glorious to watch when it arrives.

The howls and wails of the stupids who paid too much for things they will be upside down in will be sweet sweet music.
