On a clear day, I can see Seattle from my house.
    Vehicle:
Current RAM 1500 owner waiting for the new Tundra "hybrid."
I was digging around old files and found this Excel file I made for some research on an old Dodge Dakota I used to own.
I just came upon a TUNDRA Product Information someone posted, and decided to modify the file for the 2022 TUNDRA and its 10-speed transmission.
"And don't you want to know how it works!"

In the top section, input tire size, speed and axle ratio and you get wheel diameter, tire RPM and Driveshaft RPM at 60 MPH.
In the bottom section you'll find a table that computes engine RPM based on vehicle speed, transmission gear and rear ratio.
7th gear is direct drive in this 10-speed.

All this seems kinda pointless, but is actually useful if:
You're undecided or want to know which transmission gear to use to keep your engine RPMs in a certain range at a given speed.
Or want to know what affect tire size will have on engine RPMs at a certain vehicle speed.

I tried to keep it simple. I also included all available OEM tire sizes by trim level in a small table off to the side, just for reference purposes.
All the gray-background numbers are INPUTS. Change them and the blue numbers will update.
The green-background numbers are the OUTPUTS of the Tire Size, Speed and Axle Ratio, but they also feed the table at the bottom so engine RPM can be computed.
In the table, the blue numbers are OUTPUTS of all those other numbers about the sheet, and transmission gear ratio and vehicle speed.

This is an XLS file, so those of you that prefer earlier, non-ribbon versions of Excel like I do (this was done in Excel 2003) can use it.
If you've ever wondered about such things or are just curious how these things interact, have a copy and play.
I double-checked the math, but if there's an error, I'm sure one of you fine folks will find it.
    Enjoy,

    Steve

Here's a picture of the Spreadsheet open and set to 265/60R20, OEM tire size for TRD Sport,TRD OFF-Road,Limited,Platinum,1794, based on the Product Information PDF.

Thank you! Looking forward to playing with this with different sized tires to find the sweet spot!

It's a resource, made available for those who find utility in it.
    There are always alternatives.
