So this is how it turned out. I used some black foam in the back, then I used some Gorilla Tape and wrapped it. Plugged it in, and it was done.

I just picked up my 2015 CM yesterday and didn't see a brake controller harness like my Tacoma came with (to plug into the factory harness and the other end gets wired to the controller). Has Toyota stopped including these?

The brake controller wiring was right behind the tow/haul panel on my 2015

Correct - all of the 3rd generations have it there. But my frustration is that you have to buy an aftermarket wiring harness with a plug that matches your brake controller on one end and the Tundra plug on the other. Without that, you'd have to cut off the factory plug and hardwire the controller.

Can you tell me where you got the foam, or what it's original purpose was? My panel arrived yesterday and now I need to secure the brake controller in it.

I had a box from HP from a laptop repair, and it had this foam in it.

When I did mine I used some 1/2inch weather sealing foam. It's just to fill in the gap around the controller and the plate where you installed it.

I went with the P3 installation kit from Earl at ESP truck accessories. I think it is the best way to get a stock looking install with the P3 controller. I spoke with Earl personally he was very helpful and product was delivered quickly.image.jpgimage.jpg

That looks really nice. I might have to contact him to see if he can accommodate a P2.

Do you happen to have Earl's contact number? I don't see one on his website. I sent him an email, but haven't gotten a response.

    Thanks

I'll look around when I get home tomorrow. He will probably respond by then anyway.

I did the same thing Schillout did with the panel from ESP. It is the most professional install of all of them for the P3 that I could find. No extra bracing needed. It fits very snug, and ESP provides two screws that go into the P3 bracket holes to hold the controller in place from the back side.

So others don't think Earl was being unresponsive - I got an email from him last evening saying that he had sent a message the previous day. Apparently it didn't come through and was likely a problem with Hotmail.

I never had any issues with him or the company. I received the panel quickly after placing the order online.

The miscommunication was my fault - his first email didn't make it to me.

Earl and I talked for quite a while this morning. Super guy. I was very impressed. He's working on some things that I think will be VERY well received by the Tundra crowd. I'll let him elaborate if he wishes.

Thanks Tim. I posted a different thread on the 2nd version of the underseat storage. As far as other things go, we have had a lot of questions if our panel will work with the prodigy P2. In its current design, it wont. We are going to however make a plate that fits the P2. I am hoping to have that available in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully all goes smooth.

Read this post a while back, ended up going through etrailer.com to get the correct wiring harness and p3 controller. They were very helpful and fast shipping. Everything works great, compared to what I got from Toyota. They sold me everything wrong, like they had no idea that the wiring harness had changed.

Having a hard time uploading the photo, under the dash just above the pressure reset button. I'm aware of the airbag and all, I was loosing money for everyday I couldn't haul my trailer. So I made the decision to mount there.

finally figured it out, the controller is out of the way and the light blends very nicely with the other dash lights.
