Did my (most likely) last cut of the year tonight. Started when the girls went to bed. I did a quick mount of some LED cube lights to point down at edge of deck to see as I go around obstacles and close to edges. I ran it on a separate switch. The factory LED's are in front and low which is good to see when cutting. The flood/spot lights are good to light up around stuff, but makes it harder to see your cut line. So I just switched on the extras when by the house or my newly planted trees to keep from hitting the stakes holding them.
    Factory LED's:

    Extra LED cubes:

My neighbors prob think I'm weirder. Don't worry....I started at 7:30 and was done with my 2.5 acre lot at 8:30

Final update for the fall. Yard is looking great. Can't wait to see it this spring.

Still got work to do on this front lawn. But I'll get it there eventually. This year's Louisiana weather has been weird. But grass is greener than most of the neighbors' yards lol

Nothing like yalls. Man....I'd love to have tall fescue here. I don't think our environment would do too well with it. Not to mention tearing out 2 acres worth of grass isn't worth it....at the time ;)

I'm right on the edge in Upstate S.C. of being too hot for Fescue. I'm always happy if my yard makes it to July.

In bad need of some rain right now, I got sprinklers out there. I used some Scots Weed and Feed about 4 weeks ago, looks like I killed all that was green. I just treated it with some Seven brand stuff for insect control, grubs are my problem right now because I have mole activity all in the yard. This is the front yard, I got about 1.2 acer out back that doesn't look this bad but it ain't great.
Any suggestions on how to identify grass? I'd like to know what I got going on naturally and try to encourage it instead of over seeding something else.

If you want my true opinion on that front area..I would kill what’s left and soil prep the rest of the season. This fall plant turf type fescue and enjoy your new lawn this fall.
