This is somewhat embarrassing but as you all know, maybe, I recently bought a 2022 Frontier Crew Cab SV. Traded in my 14 for good $$. Wasn't that hard because I was thinking about downsizing for quite some time and wasn't interested at all in the new gen Taco. I've tried out two Frontier forums....LAME. Get this.....one has a lack of Mods, I take that back, enough Mods I guess but rarely show up. The other Frontier site I signed onto today got one response all day. Understandable actually because the Frontier was even more "outdated" than the 2nd gen tunny and Frontier forums are a bit stale. The 2nd gen Frontier came out in 2005. Who cares anyways...I don't. All I know is I feel more comfortable here. Been here a long time. Still a Tundra fan except I don't own one anymore. I know that most members here don't give a rat's ass about any truck other than a Tundra but then again.....this thread might give some members some insight on what this new Frontier is. I know....yawning.....also I'm totally prepared for whatever sarcasm you throw at me. I'm old so I don't give a rat's behind....... Ha!

I had an 05 crew cab prior to my Tundra and only found the clubfrontier forum useful. Please share the updates to the truck as I think they did a nice job with the refresh. The only thing I miss about my 05 was its small size for city driving.

I have to admit it's a lot easier reaching for stuff in the bed.. Ha! I've taken it to my grouse hunting spot three times now and it's great not scratching the heck out of it like I was doing to my Tundra. The narrower stance does have it advantages at times. It's easier for me to hand wash. Not a huge fan of 5ft beds but I'll still be able to get all my camping gear in. I adapted the bed extender that was on my Tundra to fit this Frontier which gives me 6' 10" with the tailgate down. This truck has fairly decent clearance in its stock form. Not easy to get in. Even with the stock Michelin Primacy LTXs at 30.6" tall. The OEM stereo is damn nice. Even my grandson was surprised prolly because he had only heard the non JBL stereo on my 07 and 14. Heh. Dang. Overall I'm very pleased and enjoy driving it.

I called Nisstec Lifts yesterday to order their diff breather relocate kit. They put the kits together like Toytec does. No surprise there since they have a symbiotic relationship. I was told again that they should be getting Toytec Aluma's for the Frontier soon although there are several options out there. I know that SPC has their UCA available for the Frontier. Some Frontier owners do the "Titan" swap. The Titan's larger upper and lower control arms bolt right up on the Frontier basically giving you a longer travel setup. Problem is that it's wider so unless you deal with the rear it might look odd. Still kind of nifty to be able to do that.

I had a ‘94 SE V6 for 11 years and the only problem I ever had with it were the front wheel bearing seals drying out and it squealing like a pig. Little grease every 15k and no worries.

Like above, keep being a good grandpa and enjoy the new rig.

Can’t you just get a threaded to barbed fitting and run some fuel line hose? I did this on my 05 and ran it up to tail light with a tiny breather.

Sure, but I liked Nisstec's kit and was a great excuse to go pick it up to meet the guys and support a local business.

Diff breather on. Hidden way up at the top next to the fuel filler tube inlet. Perfect spot.

Threw on some Hankook Dynapro AT2 "R11" yesterday. The AT2 R11 is Hankook's recent upgrade from the popular AT-m "R10".

Nice improvement on the dash. Is the engine the same 4.0?
That was one thing I didn’t like about my old frontier, it got 13 mpg. Same as my Tundra on 295s.

The new 3.8L with 310 hp. The 2020 Frontier got it first. 9 speed auto tranny. The tranny is made under license from Mercedes Benz by Jatco, a 75% owned Nissan company in Japan. I hand calc'd a shade over 24 mpg's last weekend trip. 22 on the highway is pretty much my norm.

I purchased a CC 2WD SV for my business partner last month. I had him in a 2019 CC 2WD SV, and they gave me crazy money on the trade. He's happy with the update too. Very impressed on the rework inside compared to the 2019. And the ride and engine are way better. Enjoy the heck out of yours, and the time with your family!

Thanks! The new cab is hydraulically cushioned now and very quiet. Stereo doesn't suck either which is nice. It's fun to drive.
