Just ordered the TRD replacement system 5x12. Says will be about 4-6 weeks. Can't wait. Just need to order tailpipes from Toyota. Keith was very helpful over the phone, thanks!

Keith, I like the idea of using the stock single tailpipe and keeping it to "a little more growl but worried about too much of a volume increase" and no drone. The 8" seems to be a nice low rumble. But I don't see the 10" on your web site. I'll call later today to discuss how to order one. Thanks for all of the great information!

Sounds good. It's not on the site. We hand write each 10" tundra performance exhaust order at DirtyDeedsIndustries.com

Just ordered a budget standard system as the 8" is a little on the quiet side for me. Once I try the budget I will keep the system I like and sell the other. Not sure if it will be on loud or not, we will see!

Much respect for what you do. I have a 2017 crew. Want dual exhaust, and a mello, nighthawk, Growling wolf, will sneak up and eat your throat kill you sound. Can you help me out?

    Not nearly enough room here!
After pestering Keith several times, I bought his 10" Stainless Catback. We tow 500 miles into some hills every year and like he says, the 10" system is ideal for towing. I've had mine on my 2010 for several years, as I've said before, buy the right one, so ya' only do it once!

This was the best for me too. I think that with the shorter total system of the RCSB it's probably a touch louder than on a DC or CM though. The sound is on the mark, without question.

It's more like he just assists you in doing something you know you're going to do anyway. Like driving the ice cream truck by your house during the warmest part of the day.

I don't know exhaust. What are the pros and cons versus BAM versus TRD Pro dual exhaust?

The best advice that I think I could give would be for you to give the guy a call after the holiday. The TRD is what TRD gives you, and that's fine if it's what you want. @dirtydeeds can custom build a system that sounds the way you want it to.

Give Keith a call and he will explain all of the differences. After reading a lot about different systems, I bought the 10" system - single side out using the factory exhaust pipe and it will just bolt right up. I don't want a lot of noise, just better performance and I don't want dual pipes.

thanks for the mentions while I was gone guys!! my 6 year old was racing at the Del Mar Fair all weekend and we are just getting caught back up here at the office, and now all of a sudden its friday again WooHoo!!!

The TRD system by Toyota is frankly a great system. It actually adds power, its not just sound. It's SS. It's mandrel bent. The tips are 304 polished. It doesnt' get much better than that, and no other automotive manufacturer offers a dealer option for any other brand that is better than the TRD system is for our trucks:)

That said, their hands were tied. They had to fit within a budget, and sound contraints. Well, for the most part, I don't;) So I've taken the only 3 flaws of the tRD system and fixed them:

    1. there needs to be an X pipe when the engine fires unevely such as our Tundras. TRD couldn't fit one in there with the huge 26" mufflers they had to squeeze in there. That said, the X pipe actually makes the system quieter, so it's not like they needed mufflers that huge, so its about $$. The X pipe alone takes more time to build than the entire tRd system.

2.There needs to be helmholtz resonators. anything but the stock muffler will drone. The stock muffler has an equation inside that cancels out drone. The TRD uses a minutely similar strategy that doesn't work super good.

    3. customizability. TRD has only one sound option. That's it. With our systems being built one off, from scratch, we can make it sound exactly how you want it to sound.

I have the TRD system and its been on for just over a year. I am liking it more and more. I only had a bad drone once and I cannot replicate. It only lasted about a minute before the truck shifted gears, I was in slow moving traffic, I think between 3rd and 4th gear. Other than that its great. Getting a little bit louder as well on take offs and acceleration which I am fine with, but still pretty quit at cruising speeds.

If I was lookin for a more aggressive sound, than I would call Keith @dirtdeeds

Either way I don't think you can go wrong

No I ordered the standard budget which is pretty much straight pipes. I have not received them yet so I can not comment on loudness

Just got the ultimate teaser...a FEDEX shipping notice from Keith @dirtydeeds ! Says my muffler unit will arrive on July 19th...right on the estimated delivery date!

Update: for some reason, the FEDEX web site still shows label created with no shipping progress. I doubt now that it will arrive tomorrow. Any update @dirtydeeds ?

I installed my standard 8" system a couple weeks ago, and my computer has confirmed what I suspected. My mileage has taken a big shit. A warning to prospective buyers, you will be putting that pedal down WAY more to hear that sweet sound. And, the best thing of all for me is that the sound is wife approved, with a toddler and a baby that is about ready to be born.

All of this very true with the mileage. But I just took a trip from Southbay to Vegas and averaged 15 mpg on the way there and 17 on the way home. I was doing between 75 and 85 in both directions with spurts of 90+ " by accident ".

In the past I was trying to be a gas miser doing between 70 and 75 mph and only averaged 15 to 16 mpg. And on one of the trips before the muffler I averaged 14 mpg doing 85 the whole way. So I'd say it jumped up a couple mpg along with my truck is a little more broken in now at almost 18 K on the clock.

When I first got the exhaust my mpg went down in the city at least 1 mpg now that I've relaxed it's gone up at least 1 mpg above normal. Typically in the city with my short trips to work I'm getting around 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 mpg , Now I'm getting 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 mpg lol.
