I was surprised when I received my headlights and there were no instructions. Thankfully I was able to find the install guide on their website. Here is a link for the install guide if anyone is looking for it.

I've had my set of Alpharex Pros since Dec 2019. I live in middle TN, we see plenty of rain here, and yet to have any issues with condensation. Also no issues with headlight/DRL function. I've been very happy with these headlights.

The cheap-o non Alpha Rex headlights I had previously didn't make it through a single carwash before filling with water. I emptied out about a two cups of water after that one. I dried those out and sealed around the edges and never had another issue. That said, I've taken the new Alpha Rex ones through the carwash and a few rain storms and have had no issues. They look well made, so I figured I would chance it for now.

Currently installing these. I am getting myself confused but thought I would ask for clarity. The side markers, do I just unplug the aftermarket socket and plug in the original subbing the wire for where the bulb went?

That is correct. There is a built in LED in the housing. Be careful when turning that plug into the housing as there doesn’t seem the be a stop when twisting. Turn it 90 degrees and stop or else it will continue to spin.

Thanks for the speedy reply, I was about 80% sure on that.

I have one more question so far. The gray wire for the DRL goes to the ignition which by default is 10A. The fuse provided is 5A. Has anyone had any issues with that?

if they gave you the adapter, use the 10A for the ignition and the 5 for the headlight side of things
    should hold two fuses

Correct as @apwisher said you need both fuses to make the DRLs work

Ok guys. I have everything hooked up and I love them but I do have one issue. I am not noticing a change when I turn on the brights?

Figured out the issue with the high beams. The connectors for those require you to really push them in hard and squeeze the clip hard to get them to seat.

I want to say thank you to @apwisher for taking the time to answer my questions those things are a huge help.

Note to EVERYONE. I pulled the trigger on these without doing all my homework. I learned during today's install that I could have purchased the headlights with the auto adjusters. I am brand new to Toyota. Had I known earlier I would have order the model with auto adjusters.

Now here are some photos HUGE improvement!

Do the lights come with all the necessary items to get the DRL to function or do I need to make an additional purchase.

I’d been debating dropping big coin on the Sequoia LED conversion, but my truck is an ‘08 and to drop $2k on headlights is tough.

if the Alpharex pro lights are good quality and straight forward installation, I may go with these instead.

    thanks

The Pros come with everything you need. They come with a harness for the DRLs and the install is very straight forward. They're a pretty decent headlight for the price, even better if you upgrade the low beams.

Thanks. I really want the sequoia lights, but man that price at close to $1800 all in.

I just have concerns about all the moisture/condensation issues i’ve read about with the alpharex. I bought some aftermarket housings for a Tacoma about 10 years ago and they immediately condensated. After that I told myself OEM only for light housings.

    Tough decisions

Agreed, the Sequoia lights are my favorite by far but cost too much for my blood. I've had the Alpharex Pros since Dec 2019, they've seen over 100 inches of rainfall since then with no issues.

This is on point. Didn't take much to install, pretty easy. Absolutely love the results. They are beautiful.

For everyone's reference, I shared this back in early 2020 when I upgraded the low beams, but it would be worth sharing again for those of you making the upgrade to the Pros.

Below is a side by side of the stock Alpharex Pros (from Dec2019 they may have changed since then) and the upgraded low beam. Stock drivers side is the included halogen bulb and passenger side has a LED for low beam. EDIT: LEDs are GTR Ultra 2s

I'm using GTR Ultra 2 LEDs, a bit pricey but I like them and they have a lifetime warranty.

My dads 2007 tundra does not have factory DRL. Is there a way to work the alpharex in his truck with a DRL function?

If you use the supplied harness yes you will have DRLs

I contacted Alpharex 2 days ago about my brand new out of the box faulty drivers side headlight. They have not responded. Has anyone had experience with dealing with their customer support? Good or bad? Do they have a phone number I can call?

I contacted them through email and they replied the next day.
When you say your light is flickering, you don't mean hyper flashing correct? I hit my bulb sockets with contact cleaner and they seemed ok, as I also had a bit of poor connection. Also make sure your ground is good. Does it change if you smack the enclosure?

it’s a random flickering that only happens on the drivers side when running the full brightness DRL. I sent alpharex two videos. It won’t let me post the video on this thread or I would.

no response to bumping the light or wire connection wiggling. I thought maybe it was a low battery problem so I topped it off and confirmed full voltage output. Problem remains.

hopefully Alpharex gets back to me. I don’t like being ignored, and was already hesitant to order these based on some of the issues I’ve read about with others. I decided to roll the dice anyway, and here we are…

I didn't go with them just cause of all the issues I heard of but another idea is to call headlight revolution they are great they will help you out even if you didn't buy from them
