    Oh my... Outrageous
I have no idea, but I figure that it's probably because most people popping in wouldn't understand an actual upgrade if they saw one... So why bother.

And I'm going to bet they don't give you the stock rims/tires they pulled off either. They're selling those on the side for some extra profit.

They wanted to mark up the truck 8k anyways, so they threw some crap on it to trick gullible people into the why

When you consider the labor rate of 1.5 hours at $3596 an hour, that markup doesn't seem so bad...

Ah yes, but when someone comes in shopping by payments and the salesperson pitches that truck for only $35 more a month at xxx months they wont even blink.

It depends on what parts they used. Tires could run from 1000 to 1300. I paid 1250 for my Fuel wheels. That didn't include lug nuts. My shocks were 3500. UCAs were about 700. Shackles were 320 bucks. There was other misc parts cost. That doesn't include the labor. My total cost (parts and labor) was a little over 9k.

I used a spacer. It doesn't show the shocks. Like I said, it depends on what parts they used. Picture doesn't show much.

OP answered that question right before your reply - dealers do this crap all the time. A real suspension lift would be around $20k using their math.

And as mentioned, the old rims and tires will be sold by the dealer instead of the truck owner, like most of us do.

Can we go back to you using a spacer... are you talking about using spacers with your Fox adjustable shocks? Or you used a spacer prior to that?

Exactly. I hate this sales model. And I hate that so many people fall for it.

In what other sales scenario, do sellers add $1000 here, $1000 there, keep your attention away from the number that shows the total amount to be repaid, and simply fold it into the monthly payment? They get away with this crap ALL THE TIME.

I worked at a dealership in college and that's exactly what they do. Mine would commonly add a 3" lift, Ballistic wheels, some KO2s, and 2 6" single row LED lights on the grill and add $12k - $15k.

and I wonder what that same dealership would tell someone when they are trading in a leveled Tundra with aftermarket wheels and tires. "That's not worth anything" "It doesn't increase your trade in value any"....yet they are quick to add $8K for those items when selling.

Someone close by with a leveled truck and rims should go see what they say....now I'm just curious. After they tell you it doesn't change your trucks value any walk them over to their window sticker.

I bought my truck from them salesman was visibly annoyed at the fact that I did not want to pay them $10000 over MSRP for what they call the TRD upgrade. That price was on top of the + $4000 adjusted market price. My advice right now is cash talks. I was lucky to get out of there paying MSRP. My coworker aptly called them swindle toyota.

I took my father in law truck shopping last weekend. We planned to look at a new SR5, but with all the markups going on we ended up driving 120 miles away and got a 2020 SR5 from Carmax with 11K miles on it. Much better deal for him.
