Couple weeks ago my wife and daughter were having lunch in town, my daughter spots a little bird dragging it's wing and limping in the parking lot. Being the animal lover she is, went to check on it, well it came right up to her. She picked it up and made it comfortable and proceeded to ask around, but nobody knew anything about it...
So she ends up bringing it home.
She got on fb and cl and posted it as found, nobody has claimed it as of yet.
It has a tag on its leg and we have done some research but haven't found anything that would help find it's owner.
It's all healed up now and needs to go back with it's flock...
    Anyone have experience with pigeons?
Question, If we release it where it was found will it be able to find it's way home?

    Hmmm, interesting.

    It's pretty though

Not sure if it would fly 'home'. Who knows how long it was there to sense that's where it should go. Or just find a flock and go with them...

Lol, I thought about tagging you but thought it would be like racial profiling!

I'm not sure if she knows about, or searched the site you linked but will definitely look into them, asap! Thank you

Stumbled across this thread. I have nothing constructive to add, but I'm curious how things went. Did you ever find a home for the drone?

As of now, the pige is still squatting at our house, lol.(pun intended)
I told my daughter about the link provided by squatting pigeon, and she did some research, but unfortunately didn't find it's owner ,or much information about it's tag number.
My wife and daughter are driving home from Idaho and should be home in a few days , when they get back I think they're going to give the bird to a local pigeon fancier that she found through a local pigeon racing club she found online.

That would probably be a racing pigeon. Check for local clubs in and around your area. I had a friend that raced pigeons. They load them in a truck and drive up to and beyond hundreds of miles and clock them as they return to their home. This could be one that got injured and was hanging out. Local pigeon club would be what I would do. Ken
