Brand new to the Tundra fam, just bought a 2010 TRD DoubleCab in pristine condition with only 76k on it. It has some nice aftermarket XD rims and I couldn't be happier. A couple of people mentioned putting a leveler on the truck...
I don't mind doing some fun stuff to the truck over time, but what is the general opinion here?

    Welcome from NY.

You can get Bilstein 5100 shocks for the front to level it.

    Thanks!
But is a good for the truck, or is it just a cosmetic thing?

    It's good.

Do a search of posts about them. Plenty of people have done it.

    It's good
It's good for some stuff, like bigger tires. Looks for sure. Its a modification from original, so good is fairly subjective.

Lots of options here, research in the suspension section of the forum and see what others posted... Different makes, brands, heights, etc..pros and cons about what they installed... It's all there to read... I'm a big fan of Toytec, solid and true... There's better, yeah Kings-Fox..but mine rides better than stock and suits me fine. Good luck. Any pics?

    Yep.

It's good for increasing the center of gravity, which arguable has negative handling repercussions. It's good for decreasing fuel efficiency. It is also good for increasing your front driveshaft CV angles.

They are also good for badassery like more ground clearance, ability to fit larger tires, and just the aesthetics of leveling out the stance of the truck.

I just installed Eibach 2.0 adjustable coilovers 2 weeks ago, and after getting the alignment dialed back to factory settings, I am loving them. I set them for right about 2" of lift and think it's perfect. I have not lifted the back, but just installed their shocks.

Honestly the truck handles better, feels tighter and handles large bumps with much more finesse. I did replace the factory Bilsteins with 150k on them, so an improvement is not so unexpected.

One (handling.?) drawback I have noticed is an increase in "bed bounce" on certain sections of concrete highway. Actually never understood what people were complaining about until I was on fresher, stiffer shocks.

There are many ways to achieve a "level", or about 2ish inches up front. The least expensive are spacers, and the most expensive would be a custom, long travel setup. I went kind of middle of the road with a US company that manufactures here in the states.

The visual change is pretty minimal. Just takes care of the excessive amount of rake they came with. Personally think its how they should have come from toyota.

will just raising the front end by 2 inches effect the gas mileage?

Oh absolutely effects aerodynamics and drag. It’s not for any other reason that new fords and chevys sit about 6” of the ground below the front bumper. Gotta get those window sticker numbers up.

Yes. But it wont be a big difference... Not until you start putting bigger heavier tires, with high rolling resistance on in order to fill the gap.

I dont pay the closest attention to the tundras mileage, but I doubt there is even 1mpg difference on the highway between stock and +2

If you are just looking for the leveled look without going bigger tires, do a drop shackle kit for the rear.

I would like a less bouncy suspension than my stock bilsteins. Hate the idea of larger tires due to rotation weight/flywheel and gearing

Falcon leveling system and Coachbuilder +1 shackles. Give a fantastic ride on and off-road.
You don’t need to go large to make it look good.
I have the above listed suspension and 33” tires. No need for regearing and added weight is not that much. Only going up one side really from stock.
Plus it will handle any off-roading that most folks will throw at it.
