Capstone Tundra

Talking to a dealer today he mentioned a capstone Tundra. Supposed to be the “mack daddy” (his words) Tundra. I google it and cant find anything. Any ideas?

I talked to someone in the industry earlier this year that makes alot of parts for Toyota. He mentioned a capstone trim, but im guessing its not going to come to fruition, otherwise they would have revealed it already, if it's supposed to be the best trim. I wouldn't hold my breath

 

Could very possibly be a project name for internal referencing. My company has internal names for projects that no one outside the company understands.

 

Maybe it's a new package... kinda like how some people consider the Nightshade it's own trim when really it's just a limited with the nightshade package

 

Might be local trim package like the TTS in Texas or XP in South East.

 

I remember rumors earlier this year of a new "Capstone" trim on the 2022 that would top the 1794 but, as others have said, unless it was delayed due to chip shortages or Toyota decided to hold it in reserve for a mid-cycle refresh, why not reveal it when revealing the rest of the truck?

Certainly but full electric is usually a separate model from their Prime models; think of a more "performance" oriented hybrid. Currently I think only Prius and RAV 4 Prime models exist.

 

Yes there is a Tundra Capstone that will be released down the road. Luxury version. Ivory interior I believe.

 

Do you have a source for that info? Also there is already a trim with an ivory interior. It's called 1794

 

1794 is Beige/Tan. Ivory- white. Info- Toyota GMs meeting in Las Vegas.

 

If that's beige I'd hate to see ivory. The lighter interior in the new 1794 just screams "don't touch me or I'll look dirty!"

 

Yeah no doubt. watch GT garage tech video that posted on oct 4 (I believe ). The interior in that video looks more saddle brown to me. I know that the 1794 will have two leather color options, the light beige and darker brown.

 

Yeah the darker one looks pretty good to me

 

The Capstone is another name for the University of Alabama. It's going to be Crimson.
