Choose My Rims

As the title states, I'm needing you guys to help me choose my rims since I am torn on this one. I've browsed through multiple threads and images and narrowed it down to two choices.

My father in law picked up a 2020 SR5 last weekend and it came with the basic plain alloys, so he wants my stock TRD offroads as an upgrade. I've been tossing around the idea of getting new rims and now being able to help him is pushing this up on my list.

1. Method Double Standard 304 - Matte Black
2. Method Bronze NV 305 - Matte Black Lip

Help me choose.

I think that one has a slight lead in my opinion. The photo of the truck is a bit old, handles and emblems have been blacked out since. The only thing holding me back with the Bronze is that nothing else is bronze...but they look so good.

 

Go bronze… let me live vicariously through you…

 

Either one would look great, but I like#1 it matches your black and white theme.

 

I like the 5 lug for your truck.

 

how about these and or black if you don’t like anthracite.

SCS also has my favorite bronze option if they’re actually available. I couldn’t find them when I was in the market for wheels.

 

Bronze is a fad that comes and goes. Rock black!

Fwiw, these are both affordable and available. Which nowadays is a miracle. Ordered last week, just arrived 18x9 +30.

Have to agree with Brett. SCS and Methods are classics, but so overdone. Also, a hint of bronze looks good on stormtroopers imo.

I’ve been wanting some of Methods wheels that come in that blue color since I never see any other Tundra rocking colors like that. Sadly, I can’t upgrade right now…

 

i was gonna get them but ended up with black rhino barricades in black…there’s so many wheels out there that look good on the tundras. The barricades look military style

 

EXACT reason I just replaced my TSS wheels

 

I would consider good venting capabilities for brake cooling, and so dust, mud, snow, and ice can flow out well.

 

After a bit more searching on the internet I still keep coming back to the same wheels in the original post.

I just took the leap and purchased the Method Bronze NV 305 - Matte Black Lip direct from the Method Race Wheels website. Did you get them installed yet? If so, any pics?

 

Not yet, trying to decide on tires and tpms options. Hoping to find a local buyer for the current set so I don't have to deal with storage. On top of that, I need to decide if I am going to modify the centercaps and if I will bore the the wheels to accept extended nuts or replace studs to gain more thread engagement. The good old one thing leads to ten others, as usual!

 

It's happening...just dropped it off at Discount Tire and walked over to get a bite to eat at Shane's Rib Shack while they get installed.
