Looking for info on why you love or hate the kick out on the back of your sliders.
Also looking for a set to purchase so if you have one that just sitting around let me know!

    Aloha

    First off Welcome..
I think it depends more on the usage. If you're just mall crawl'n then ones the fit up and close to the cab (more of a step than a slider) are well suited. If you are an avid Trek'r then sliders that are more robust and protrude further from the cab are better suited. I think is just comes down to looks although the kick out sliders give you more surface area for foot placement.

Let's not forget the 3 step sliders which have a step up on the others as they allow easy access to the front of the bed from each side of the truck

    Too many, but not enough....
I have the cali raised sliders with the kickouts and I am pretty happy with them. The kickout acts as a step to help people get in the back, or you can use them to get in the bed of the truck. Mine have already stopped a door ding on my truck as well. I think the only time the kickouts are not good is if you are doing alot of very narrow areas on trails, but you probably wont be with a beast like the tundra.

kickouts help you turn when on tight trails and hitting a tree or rock. It will act as a pivot point for the rear end.
    I recommend WKOR sliders.

If you off-road in boulder terrain or where you’ll push this long wheel base through narrow gaps, picking a line through obstacles, get the kick outs. They’re not for looks, they’re functional and help keep your truck intact.

    Function before sparkle.
I don't have sliders on my Tundra as my current needs don't align to it (and I am trying to keep weight down for towing) but after years of Taco sliders I would absolutely do a kick out if you have a truck canopy. You get all the added protection benefits plus an easier way to get to the roof!

I have sliders (without a kick out) on my FJC and really wish they had a kick out. From seeing other rigs, they really protect you from trees and big rocks on trails. Plus they act as a step to get stuff off the roof without needing to open your doors.

I prefer to have the kick out for functionality as well as the reasons stated above.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I’ll go with the kick outs.

I had the kick outs on my Tacoma, and it saved me from tree damage several times. When I get sliders for my tundra I’ll be sure they have the kick out.

kick out if you plan to use them, really helps on a long wheel base rig.
