That's funny. I saw a cowboy taco comment the other day. Small world.

Did you use any adhesive along the main part of the molding? The new stuff isn't fitting down in pressure tight and slightly pops up here and there along the molding far too easily. Admittedly I haven't applied tension to it and pulled it tight with adhesive down at either end, maybe it's as simple as that?

I used Fuuuze It. Didn't work 100% but most of it is down. Come to think of it, I think I had some double sided 3M tape I used as well.

Decided to go for a hike yesterday and found the snow hiding above 2,500 ft.

Hot Springs, NC has been on my list of places to visit. Did you check out the town or stay where you could get in one of the springs?

Info on road/trail in above pic?

We've actually been to Hot Springs 3-4 times in the past decade. It's a neat little town with a few places to eat and get a beer. I haven't personally gotten in the springs but I have friends that have stayed at cabins nearby and seemed to enjoy it.

The road in the picture isn't anything spectacular but it's how we had to get to the trail head. 35.852655, -82.876324

It was right off of NC209 which looks like would be a really nice drive. We only saw 6 miles of it.

thats a great place. Next time when you go back try the southern island. It can be a little busy (meaning you see a truck every few hundred yards at the point) but tends to be a little more hospitable IMO. If you go again and catch some fish let me know...Great looking truck!

I haven't done anything to the truck in a while. The next project is to rebuild the rear drums with OEM parts. Hoping this improves brake pedal feel. I think the adjusters and springs are worn out after 20 years. I'll probably replace the o.g. alternator as well.

Aside from the brake issue she's dialed in nicely and did great in the Outer Banks recently. I removed the back seat to maximize space used the roof rack to haul all our chairs.

That's in my neck of the woods. If you head over to Helen, let me know and I'll meet you there. If nothing else, Indian Grave Gap Rd is a gravel FS road with a water crossing and a hiking trail to 2 waterfalls.

You should submit that last picture to the current Jackery contest. They are selecting photos and giving out prizes for their 9th anniversary. I think its called something like "Outing with Jackery".
