Does anyone make a rear window screen for our trucks?

I did a search and couldn't fins anything. It would be cool if there was a screen on the rear window so that I could leave it open and not have flies, bugs and skeeters get in.

It would be nice to have one and it might not be to difficult to make but not having it look redneck is the issue. Maybe someone here can figure out how to bend some screen trim molding and make it work.

I would use house window screen, steel or fiberglass. Rivet, staple or glue Velcro onto it. Attach to the headliner and back of cab with matching Velcro. I did that for a TrailManor trailer, they don't have screens on the entry door. Worked fine, and that was with many cycles, it's a trailer entry door so a lot of cycles. Tundra application would be more permanent.

Get a 3d printer fired up and it could happen.

Might be kind of rigged, but could just get a fiberglass screen section, cut to fit, and sew in these "sew in magnets" every 6-8" or so. Is not going to look good going down the road, but I'm thinking of this more as a camping type setup, at the beach, i.e., when stationary.

Has anyone ever put the decorative screening (like tint) on the rear sliding window without it coming off when putting the window? I am looking to put an EAGLE portrait on the rear glass.

    Here’s my idea for you.

Make a cardboard template that basically matches the glass. Ideally, the template could be positioned in the open window, and fitted down into the window opening. Slightly raising the rear window would then seat the top of your template into the top window channel so that it seals. Trim until it’s fitted perfectly.

Get a sheet of ABS plastic. Cut the ABS into the shape of your template. Then, cut inside your template leaving about a 1-2 inch frame. Repeat, so you will have two flexible ABS frames that match the shape of the rear window.

Get some vinyl window screen. Cut it to a bit oversize compared to the frames. Mount this (stretched fairly taut to avoid sags) to one half of the frame. I would think about using an adhesive that will join vinyl and ABS. Mount the other half of the frame, so you have the screen sandwiched between the 2 frames, and the whole thing is glued together. You should wind up with a fairly solid framed screen that is about a quarter of an inch thick or less, and should slip down into your window channel, so that when you bump the glass up a bit, it’ll press your new frame up into the top channel and provide a snug fit. Trim away any excess screen.

You won’t be able to drive with anything like this. I think the air pressure would just wreck it.

Go to home depot and get some screen material, cut it to shape. Use the velcro on the outside of the window trim. Probably would want to add some extra adhesive to the velcro on the screen material but this would be a cheap route with minimal cost.

Without my Crewmax in the driveway anymore to check I would think one could be secured in the rear the way in channel ventvisors go in the sides? Double sided
Tape on a lip of a frame, slip up into channel, leave window closed for a day?

Just add a lithium 2nd battery under the hood and wire the climate control/vent fan to it. Cabin filter will catch the bugs. A Renogy dc to dc charger could recharge the lithium while driving easily. This gives more than just ventilation, you can run a fridge, lights, and much more with no risk of having a dead starting battery if you design the system correctly.
