Just picked up my truck yesterday. Due to some logistical issues I need to get my tires installed before my lift. I have 6112’s on the way. Has anyone installed this tire size on stock suspension and wheels? I know it will at minimum rub, but want to make sure I can at least drive around a bit without tearing anything up?

285/70s will fit on stock truck with stock +60 wheels. I think 285/75 will be too big without some lift up front. Maybe your installer will test fit one up front so you can check. No issue with that size on stock rear suspension. If you are using wheels with less offset than stock, could be more problematic with stock height truck.

Have your installer test fit one up front. Could rub inner fender plastic, front spat/bumper, mud flap. Can remove spat and mud flap, heat plastic inner fender and shape with a basketball for clearance, and there are spacers you can get to push bumper forward or search and there are threads that show how to trim and drill new holes for the inner fender plastic, so you can move it forward an inch or so for clearance.

Or you could try and remove inner fender plastic, run without it for a bit, also remove spat and mud flap. A test fit is going to be key to see if it will work for you, gonna be very close or may not work. Most tire dealers will test fit so they can sell you some tires.

They will rub bad and on the body mounts if you turn at all. What are the logistic issues?

Thanks for the welcome. I live in a relatively remote area with no tire shops. I’m currently at my in laws in Los Angeles, I was hoping to be able to get tires installed this weekend. I’m heading back Monday and the lift I ordered should be at my house Tuesday-Wednesday.

long story short I’m seeing if I can put on tires before lift because the lift is in transit.
