FOX 2.5 DSC Installed

Finally got the fronts last week. I got the rears a month ago. So I promptly installed them. I also updated to new JBA design bushing, can’t over grease them due to channel design. I over greased the old design, lol. The hardest part was taking off the UCA, the inner washers “coined” (stuck) on the bolt on both sides. It took 8 hrs each just to hammer the bolts out, you have about 2” if that to swing a hammer. I should have just cut them off and replaced them. I also replaced the UCA ball joints, I like the new boot design. I will use the old ball joints as spares. Finally, I installed the new wheel well splash guard from RAD, old ones were ripped and mounting holes are elongated.

Any modifications done/needed for front and rear swaybar endlinks?

 

The suspension is looking mighty fine.

 

Let me save you some trouble. Need to clearance the upper rear shock mount on both sides, the elbow for the reservoir hose hits and breaks off.

 

Can the fitting be turned down enough for clearance?

 

That's optical illusion, it clears due to hex goes down but I did turn down the fitting some more after install. I also did the same for the fronts to make sure hoses clears the springs.

 

No, it actually clears better than my old Bilstein 6112.

 

Your 37s don’t touch the shock reservoirs? Are your tires 12.5 or 13.5?

 

Nope, plenty of room. I have 12.5" but will clear 13.5" as well. The key is wheel offset, and I have +20mm.

 

When I loaded up my bed with full spare, recovery and camping gears for T2S event last weekend, the fittings do come close. Still clears but too close for comfort. I followed your recommendation, I grounded the brackets for more clearance.

 

How are you liking the ride, literally getting ready to check out with the same shocks but am second guessing myself.

 

Taken it out to do some high speed runs, yet?

Nice! I am installing mine this weekend, hope I don't have the UCA bolt issues you did.
What height did you end up with over stock?
What are you using for rear lift?
I went with the 3" (1.75" of lift) Coach Builder shackles, hoping they are not to high.

 

I got my original 3" front lift. I'm using 1.5" Toytec shackles for the rear. Get the bolts just in case and cut them off if you run into similar issue as mine.

 

Is it exactly 3" or somewhere around 2.75 up front?

With the rear shackles do you sit level? I need some rake since I tow a small trailer.

With the UCA bolts have 4500 miles on them I hope I am good.

 

May I ask what was the turnaround time with ordering the Coach Builder Shackles and receiving them?

 

About 3 weeks with no email or phone calls replies.
