    Hello everyone,
After a bit of a horror story dealing with Ironman 4x4 about a bumper, I am strongly looking at instead purchasing a ARB Summit bumper for my 2017 Tundra. I would also like to do a moderate suspension lift and after reading up on the various threads have decided on an OME full suspension kit with the 613 springs in the front and the Dakar leafs in the rear. The wallet is saying that I can only do one at a time though. My question is which should I go for first? Will the truck’s ride be extremely bad with the Summit bumper on stock suspension? Will the ride be to harsh with the 613 springs and no additional weight?

I just purchased my truck the end of July, it has 52 thousand miles on it and is a 5.7 SR5 Crewmax with the TRD off-road package if that plays into your suggestions. Thank you all in advance.

Another option would be to purchase either one, save for the next item and then install at once.

OME is firmer and they run high on the lift. For example, the lightest springs from OME are on my 4runner, stated 2.5 lift, but is closer to 2.75/3. Using the 613 springs and no additional weight up front may end up lifting more than you want. And going too high up front can introduce other issues other than a hard ride, UCAs, alignment, no down travel, etc.

But there are folks here that run OME so hopefully they will chime in. But I do think your plan is solid and the parts you are considering are good quality.

The arb bumper is on my short list so you have my vote for that. I'm going to do springs second personally. How soon it follows will depend on how bad it rides.

    Little arb experience here:

Just drove my dads 21 tundra from Bozeman to Boise on Tuesday and got….. 10mpg. He has a 3in lift, smaller 34x11x20 Tires (actually my old wheel/ tire set up), but he has the arb front bumper- 99% sure the extra profile and coverage it provides dragged down the mileage significantly. My old tundra with the same lift, 35x12.5x17’s and roof rack and more weight in the bed and c4 front bumper would average 13-17 on the same trip.

My experience on my 14...I installed the the bumper and winch first, and drove w stock suspension for some time; maybe close to one year. Definitely made the steering more squishy and had more nose dive in turns. I went w the heavies due to the weight up front. I also run firestone bags w daystar cradles in the rear.

Did you notice a big hit to MPG with just the bumper?

Keep in mind that adding weight to the front end may increase premature wear and tear

I suggest waiting until you have the front end beefed up to handle the additional weight before adding a bumper

I cant say that I did, mainly due to the fact that I already had the Habitat on the truck, which is the main culprit for bad MPG for me.

I have an OME setup with Dakar leafs in the back(+ add a leaf) and an ARB summit on order for the front. The front is a little stiff without the added weight, but not enough to justify complaints while I wait for the bumper(or to justify swapping springs in a few months)0EADF180-4F80-4797-A7A0-9D754BCDB4BB.jpg . Still handles well on/off road.

This is kind of an old thread but what issues did you have with Ironman? Was looking at their rear bumper. Thanks!
