I bought a brand new 2020 Tundra TRD Pro two weeks ago and started having issues with the key fob locking the doors. When I close the door and press lock, I can press it over and over again, but it takes about 10-20 seconds to respond and lock. I got the second remote out to make sure the first didn’t have a faulty battery, but same thing. Anyone else experiencing this on a new Tundra?

My 2019 does the same, i have replaced the batteries in both key fobs and still same result. sometimes the buttons do as they are intended to do first click, sometimes it takes some button mashing to get the truck to respond accordingly.

I would just schedule a diagnostic with your first free oil change; it’s under warranty so they’ll have to fix it.....

Did you recently change your cargo lights to LEDs?

    Please see this response.

The antenna is in the cargo light area and some LED bulbs cause interference. Turn the cargo light off. Try again.

VLED came out with a suppressed bulb to stop that type of interference. I witnessed it first foot.

That was definately it. I made it to where the truck lights turn off when truck is off, and works just fine. I did upgrade to LED's using Precision LED's. Guess I should've done more research and used Vleds. Think changing just the cargo light to Vleds would fix this?

Here is a update also. If you have the Fyre flys I have the 3014 series causing the issue on my 21 tundra Pro. He know s about it and sending me out new bulbs to stop the key fob issue. He is also going to have prototypes soon to be out to stop the key to. Issue. It’s the map lights and cargo lights that cause the issue. I turned mine off and key fob is fine.

I had a similar issue with my 2020 crewmax sr5 with smart key. after reading this thread I changed all my LED bulbs back to factory and the problem still persisted. It turns out that a usb to 10V charge adapter for a baofeng radio was causing the problem. The dealership unplugged it and now it works like a charm. I'm going to try and buy another one from a different brand and see if it has the same issue. Will post findings.

I'm running into this issue right now and figured it was the battery in key fob. I replaced and no go. Turned off cargo lights and still only works when warm out. Cold mornings not working. Battery is an AGM Northstar and only 2 years old

I just recently changed my cargo lights on my 2015 Tundra with the LED kit from Fyreflys.com I contacted them before I purchased the kit about this issue and they told me they added shielding to the resistors on the cargo lights. They arrived and the cargo lights had what appears to be EMI shielding over the resistors. I have no problems with my key fob, works as it should. The lights are much brighter than stock and they look great!
