Started install on my lift this weekend, as always, I expected some challenges. Things went south with my driver uca. The pivot bolt absolutely refused to go in the last sleeve. I thought it was just me and my angle of insertion. Finally pulled the uca and realized that the sleeve must be out of spec. aaaaaargh… considering I can’t close my garage door, I have to move forward and the stock uca goes back in. All said, quality control cost me probably 2-3 hours (precious time when you have a 3yo and 5yo).

got me thinking, I wonder if anyone else has had issues with icon quality control?

how about warranty process? Are they easy to deal with? Will they treat me right given the headache that was created. Any tips?

Not trying to blast icon over this. Not upset at all. Product seems amazing and I understand that things are bound to happen, even with the best quality control.

Side subject, lift is: Icon UCA, Icon RXT, Icon thrust wheels, Toytec Aluma Boss System, 315/70r17 BFG - going on a ‘20 limited

    It's good
I've been reading forums for a year with special interest in suspension, control arms, coilovers, leaf packs, lifts. I have no where the experience of many here. But, Ive never heard a QC complaint about Camburg or TC. Everyone loves what they have if it's working out. I have Kings up front, per Accutune, on paper Fox might be better in some ways. But nobody with Kings seems to think so and Fox is everywhere, so....

Anecdotally, I needed shocks for the rear - Kings did not fit the application. It was up to Icon and Fox. After what I had been exposed to and a conversation with a pro in the off road rescue world, I ordered Fox for rears.

Agreed, haven’t heard many quality control complaints about any of the big boys. Just curious if anyone else has been through anything with Icon.

Well, if not being able to get proper alignment #s with Icon tubular UCAs is an issue, then yes. I know several people, myself included, who've had issues with their UCAs and poor alignment #s. IMO, TC and MCM fab make the best UCAs for '07+ Tundra's.

What was out of spec? Camber? Caster?

I went with the icon uca for the delta joint. Had several recommendations for it based on lower maintenance especially since we live in the mountains with weather.

Thanks for the info. Not overly worried, as long as alignment is reasonable. I’ll see what happens.
Hoping someone can give me feedback on icon’s warranty / service process.

I have heard enough bad results with ICON and not so stellar customer service to stay away from them. Though there are those that swear by them too.
JBA UCAs will be my choice if I ever decide to do them. But I am just leveled and my OEM UCAs do just fine.

Update: confirmed that the sleeve was either bad on incorrect. Either way a random fluke.

Icon customer service was great to deal with, they were willing to overnight the new sleeve to me, however, I opted to will call it since Icon is 40minutes away and I was going to be in the area.

My disappointment is in their swag giveaway. Considering the headache they gave me, I had a higher expectation of apology/swag/care than a single $10 tee shirt. Maybe I’m being greedy, but a couple hours of extra effort justifies more than a shirt.

I've heard of issues with the ICONs tubular UCA. I've been running ICONs billet UCA for several years now with zero issues and haven't heard of any issues with this same model. There will always be random issues with all the brands.... but most people have alignment issues with the ICON tubular UCA. Glad you got it figured out and that they took care of you. **Edit** for the haters ;) I'm also running ICON shocks without the issues.... aside from normal wear and tear. ICON shock bodies definitely hold up better than the other brands during the winter time grime.

I had a nightmare experience with Crapburg. :crapstorm:

I'm on my second vehicle running TC (LT with boxed lowers). IMO, TC is the top of the line.

edit **last truck had TC UCA's and Icon shocks". For me, Icon was EZ to deal with and never had a problem. I talked to them at SEMA one year, and it was apparent they get their fair share of hate.**

I like my Kings but if I had to do it all over again, I would've gone Icons for the shocks. OP-glad Icon resolved your issue quickly.
