    Hi guys,

just in need of some help here. The check engine light is on and traction control is off and I’ve tried resetting it many times by removing the battery cable. The lights come off for a few weeks then it comes back on again. Also what’s weird is the gas mileage improves with the reset and I gain more driving mileage which I don’t understand. If I can get some advice I would really appreciate it.

    Abs sensor perhaps ?

Any time you disconnect battery, the mpg is reset and gives false high reading till it learns your driving patterns and then gives accurate mpg.

My 2008 used to do that when my mass air sensor had dust on it and needed to be cleaned. I had an after market intake so it was a problem. Maybe that could be it if it is running bad too.

Every time you disconnect the battery cable it resets the miles to empty way higher than what it actually is. It will reset once it determines your driving habits.
