If I purchased a non-certified Tundra at a off brand dealer could I take it to a Toyota dealer and get it certified if it passed inspection? Cost and is it worth it to get the extra 7/100 warranty?

Just a hypothetical question. Is there a mileage limit or yr to get certified? How about 51K miles on a 2017 for giggles.

Not sure it can be done via Toyota. I know some other brands can do it on used vehicles but generally its to sweeten the deal on a purchase through them.

Max 6 years/85K, clean Carfax (which doesn't mean squat) and 160 point inspection.

Call a dealer and find out.

I think with Ford you can extend the warranty but it must be inspected if over 35K miles and under 45K miles but I am unsure.

bought a bmw once certified as I knew they are expensive to fix and they break a lot. Saved me over 10k with that warranty on turbo charger issues. Sold the car the first day certified warranty ran out.

Bought Honda's, lexus and toyota's and never cared about certified. Don't need it and it's cheaper to get one without certification. As long as maintenance is good don't bother.

Certified - no. That’s reserved for Toyota dealers to my knowledge.

Can you buy an extended warranty from Toyota - generally yes - up until the point the original warranty expires. It varies - but a 2017 - doubt it. Maybe a 2019 or newer with 50k, but no on a 2017.

Max years I think they do is 8 or 9. A 2017 is 5 my’s old already and 2022 is around the corner shortly.
