I hope it feels quicker because it will be changing gears more often to keep the engine on boost....

I can feel a tune coming.....

sounds like a big improvement from our 2.5gen jbl system, but then again didnt take much regarding bass.

Exactly this! It is predicted that the Chev ZR2 will launch at 55k USD. As it stands now, the ZR2 out specs the TRD pro in pretty much every dept. If Toyota really wants to be competitive, they will need to undercut the ZR2 msrp.

    https://www.caranddriver.com/chevrolet/silverado-1500-zr2

There’s a lot to be said for Toyota’s reliability and brand loyalty of the customer base. But… if they price a mildly capable off road trim higher than a very capable off road ZR2, I think we will see a few jump ship.

The way I see it is that this truck is now competitive in most ways. Its not a world beater, but it is where it needs to be in 2021 as a viable option without giving up much compromise.

I feel like my F150 is better in almost every way in terms of specification except reliability and build quality.
And reliability. Its a big factor for a lot of people in general and anyone planning to keep their vehicle beyond warranty terms. My F-150 has been pretty bad. Never again.

i look at the F150 and go wow... tech, features, specs, etc. then i see all the comments about how much issues random people have. but then i see 1/2 the guys at work driving one and they dont have issues except recalls.

but after 45 40 yrs of driving toyota's (first was a 1984 celica gt fastback in dark blue, almost same color as the blueprint) i cant get past the point of in almost 45 40 yrs, the worst thing i've had go bad in a toyota is flaky temp gauge in my 1984 cressida and our 2018 platinum rear passenger seat rubbing squeak and the woefully lacking bass in the 2018 jbl system.

The hybrid numbers aren't real...it's time we acknowledge that. No offense intended, but you can't just add the hp & torque numbers of the electric motor to the gas motor and get the actual total output of the combined hybrid motor. This has been debunked several times.

How is getting 20 mpg from the non-hybrid a huge fail? What were you expecting?

considering I just got 13 on the highway pulling a small trailer and 4wheeler, I’ll take it!

considering my 2015 gmc averaged 22 mpg with a v8 that would switch to a 4 is a huge fail

Considering a 2015 GMC 1500 4WD had a combined EPA rating of 18, the Tundra is still better.

If the Ford worked as well as a Toyota I would drive it forever. But its been pretty bad. 4x4 IWE valves, windshield wiper motor seized, head unit glitches and needs to be reset, rear passenger door fills with water when it rains, massaging seat/lumbar buttons work intermittently, and now a low oil pressure problem that will cost thousands to repair. 5 years old, 95,000 miles.

No, but the best I normally get is 16 on the highway.

so if I get the same % drop I’d hope to be getting 17-18mpg with the new setup.

And the 2021 model only gets 19 mpg. What's your point? If you want the first technology when it's available and the highest numbers, Toyota isn't for you.

yeah its people that deal with this that makes me stay with toyota regardless of what they offer, even if its years behind other oem's. i mean my 2014 4runner with almost 88k in 8yrs and the only thing i've done is replace the 3 diffs oil and cooling system chemical flush (since it still had oem fluids in them) and i have to deal with -20F temps during the winters.

in my sig you can see all the other vehicles i have tried over the 40yrs but i always go back to toyota and i have learned my lesson several times. the kids went thru the same phase but they are moving toward toyota and not having to deal with the headaches they use to have.
