I changed my serpentine belt over the weekend and noticed some oil residue back behind the belt on the drivers side. See picture. Any idea where this could be coming from? I don’t see any fresh oil as it appears to be oil that has got covered in dust. My first thought is maybe it’s from spilling a little when doing previous oil changes but I’m not sure. Is there a known item that may leak in this area?

Cam tower leak?? Could be but hard to tell from the photo. Definately have timing cover down in there too. Clean it good, dry it, then keep an eye on it.

I’m hoping it’s not the cam tower. I’ll have to see if I can get in there and clean it this weekend and then keep an eye on it thanks!

Do you do your own oil changes Brody?

I noticed that if I dumped the oil a little fast it would come up the filler neck and leak down the head/block.

I do, and I have also experienced this. I’m hoping that’s all it is. Trucks about to roll 106k and she hasn’t let me down yet ha ha

If you know you have spilled oil there, seems like you have your answer.

That isn’t nothing on your Tundra.

Damn man, I remember when you sold the Duramax and purchased this truck. Time flies.
