If I get a taligate light strip for braking and turn signals, can I use the same plug that my old topper was plugged into? The topper is gone now, but the wire is still near the end of the bed

You disconnect the original connection behind the bumper, then this plugs in between the bumper and the original connection. It also has a 5 pin connector, but some lights come with 4 pins already wired up and the reverse wire is "loose". You can plug in the 4 pin (only one way to plug) and then get a butt connector and crimp that onto the loose reverse wire, and plug into the remaining hole on the connector.
