All depends on what you want right now rather than what you need?...then go for it.
Far worse things to spend money on so if you have the disposable income and it brings you a little happiness and you've thought it out...then go for it.

We are trading off our 2021 limited for a 2021 Trd Pro in a month.
Yes will will loose a little money...but not all that much and I "wanted" a Pro.

Is it a foolish purchase...sure is...
I mean I have a truck, it's paid off, its a nice truck too...so why not be satisfied with what I have and find something else to spend money on or better still put it in a savings account or invest it someplace.

I want a TRD Pro is why..don't have to have one...and if for some reason the deal falls through...that's life..and Ill still sort of want one but it's not going to spoil my lunch so to speak.

Mostly its a shot at getting the last of the TRD Pros with a 5.7 V8 too...so there's that.

I had a 19 Voodoo Blue. I paid 51.5 in November 2018. I sold it in May for 54,500 with 36k miles and I took the steps, tonneau, and console safe to put on a new 2021. I looked and looked for a Lunar Rock but ended up getting a white one in June for 59 including taxes. Then I found out in July the same dealer I bought the white one from was getting a Lunar Rock, so I put a deposit on it. I traded the white one in a few weeks ago and got 60 and change plus tax savings so about 64. Hopefully will get the LR next week.

At the current rate of appreciation, I should be able to even up trade my '21 Pro for a '22 Pro

Has production stopped on 2021's yet? I'm curious to see how quickly supply can meet demand on 2022's. I expect that we'll see $5k+ ADM's for the foreseeable future on well spec'd 2022's.....more on the Pro's.

I’d wait until the 2022’s are out. You’ll still get good money for a trade in or sell it to carvana, vroom, car max, etc…

Unless you are in love with a V8 the V6 should outperform the V8. More horse power, more torque and quicker off the line. It could be a lighter engine as well.

Only issue will be the mark ups and bump in MSRP for a 2022 TRD PRO.

I went from a 2006 4runner with 190,000 miles to a 2021 TRD PRO tundra LR. Major upgrade and tech that I didn’t have in the 15 year old 4runner.

Probably would come down to how financially set you are. Making plenty and have no worries, buy what makes you happy. Struggling a little? Keep what you got.

Hold it or trade for the 2022. No point in trading it in on another 2.5 Gen when the 2022 is going to be superior in every way. Minus a V8 rumble

I was in the exact same situation as you and that is exactly how I rationalized it. I wanted it..... last of the V8 Pro's. Life is short. I love the dual exhaust and Fox suspension.

Just my opinion. And I said it before. I wanted the last 21 V8 Pro. If I decide to trade up to the next Gen I will not lose money on my 21 Pro. I will wait for about 3 years in. I’m very happy with my 21 Pro. And yes I have no payments. And it’s sitting with 3500 miles on it. I don’t drive it a lot. I’m in a win win cituation. Even if I put 25,000 miles on it in 3 years I’m still going to get top dollar. There is a lot of If’s with this new Gen.

Personally I'm not of fan of buying the first iteration of any new model. That said I believe the V6 is the same one they use in the Land Cruiser so perhaps the bugs have been worked out. I'll stick with my V8 for the next 300K miles or so. I damn near sold mine, but then I saw the 2022 was going to have a V6. I know all the hype about the V6 out performing the V8 on paper. But I think there is no substitute for the cubic inch.

Truck looks great. If you trade you should first take off the bed cover and the Yakima because they won’t give you a dime for that stuff.

+1, but add the fact that you have to pay sales tax every time you purchase a vehicle. I have an Android phone and no use for Apple and how hard is it to push the button. As far as dual climate even if I was still married I would just say tough. Now if I had unlimited money I would never drive an outdated truck.

I'd hold picked our new Pro up at the dealer yesterday one of the biggest in WI.
Their lot and showroom were just about empty...pretty sad for those folks.
