Hello all, Glad to here! Im a Tundra guy, I have a 2013 and a 2020. Always looking for advice from others as I like to customize and do things that make my truck unique. I will have advice to offer others hopefully. I have a question for someone who is now yesterday I was wiring the spotlights for my new Tow Mirrors from boost Auto I noticed there was a unused wire harness taped in the dashboard under the steering wheel column anyone know what this would be for what option I'm missing? Just curious, also I noticed while testing all the terminals trying to find the cargo light wire I realized there are two different horns one high-pitched, that I never heard before and the normal one that honks when you hit the steering wheel. any reason why there's two horns? Thank you

That is the make you ask questions connector. It seems to be in good working order. Just kidding! Anyway, welcome to the forum!

These trucks are pre-wired so you will find a few unused connectors.

That could be, but can’t remember, the GBS plug for the alarm. I recently installed one and the module connects to a similar plug under the dash. Also that high pitch horn you hear is also probably the extra horn for the alarm system. Look in the engine bay on the passenger side. Around the middle of the fender there is another horn. I also installed it on my 2020 when I did the GBS and activated my OEM alarm.

Okay, the OEM GBS alarm makes sense. I saw another guy's 2020 Tundra on YouTube and he had extra buttons in that exact spot right underneath where the power steering wheel control would be on the platinums. I know it's not the brake controller I have the factory tow package. I pretty much have every option that would be in that area the only thing I could think of was the powerfold mirrors, which I don't have. Is there any benefits to the factory alarm?

I thought about an aftermarket alarm but prices are sky high for a good one and about all you get it is a shock sensor that the OEM alarm doesn’t have. If you op for one of the 2 way alarms then that’s another thing. But basically the factory alarm does just the same. Break the glass or open a door and the alarm goes off. Also nowadays to get a alarm install the right way is almost impossible to find that person. Not to mention not have any issues down the road. I am more than happy with my GBS and OEM alarm. Besides if they want it they will get it.
