Spent the two nights in the hills with MiniMe last weekend. We left Saturday evening and stayed through Monday. I coach the soccer teams of the three of my kids that play so, we didn't get an early start. We stopped at the Bellevue Chick-Fil-A for dinner and that backed things up even later then they already were. I had four spots e-scouted. As we drove up, the first two were already taken. The third was down a short, smaller trail off the main dirt road. We decided to give it a try even though it was already 9:30 and pitch black. Down the trail there ended up being three spots that were reasonably spaced, probably 100yds between each spot. There was one open and we wanted to call it a night. We got the Tundra in an acceptably level spot and began to make camp. Because it was late and I feel for others that want some peace and quite, we got out the hand saws, gathered some wood and built a fire. The next day we were treated with a morning of elk bugling and seeing them move along the hillside across from us. As the other campers cleared out, I warmed up the chainsaw and got to the business of making rounds and splitting wood for the camp fire. We stayed where we were, shot pellet guns and wrist rockets, kept the fire burning and enjoyed the day. We stayed that night and headed back early Monday morning. Couldn't have asked for better weather.

The river is just beyond that first bank of brush. Could hear it all day and night.

Just bumbling around and ran into your post... beautiful spot to hang out. We've got some nice places here in MI, but there's something about the PNW that's awesomely different. Good for you getting the little ones out in nature!
    Nice truck too

They grow up too quickly. Often times I don't feel like I do enough with them. Anyone that has little one's, do everything you can to get out and spend time doing rad things with them.
