That is wicked looking, how much travel is in the back with the cantilever?

    Very nice!!!
I’m curious how the rear works. I’ve always liked the idea of a cantilever setup for the bed space savings but hear they can be difficult to tune.
Let us know what you think when you get some dirt time on it.

Yeah I’ve mashed it pretty good (tires off the ground a few times ) and seemed to do fine I may need some tuning have to get in contact with some of the other ppl I know with this set up and ask them how their shocks and bypasses are set up. May need some more dampening and maybe stiffen the rear bump stops.

Bypass shocks make a lot of noise clicking and clacking.

I have the MCM Fab rear under bed setup so no bedcage for me either. At full bump my bypasses are at a pretty steep angle. I do need to revalve them but just haven’t put the effort in required to do it right. I think my biggest issue is the Deaver I96HD leaf springs, they don’t hold weight. Just filling up with gas and there is a significant lean and it gets worse with time. I need to have them serviced but will probably do the 3” wide leaf spring conversion at some point.
Yeah man, bypasses are loud! Sounds like there’s a metal can half full of rocks in the bed of my truck.

For the most part it’s really good. I just need to do some fine tuning to the bypasses so I keep a compliant ride on the small stuff and don’t blow through the stroke on the bigger hits.

amazing, so it is possible to run one LT shock with LT LCAs

If you don’t mind my asking, how does one get hands on just those camburg LCAs? their website only sells the kit with a lot of stuff i don’t need

Bro what. You need the whole long travel package to run long travel shocks. That post you quoted is a MCM long travel kit. You do need all the stuff, you can't just slap LT LCAs and bigger shocks on, you need the upper arm and all the other shit to widen the suspension and allow you to fit the longer shock. You can buy beefed up stock length LCAs and run 3.0 shocks, but that's different than long travel.

Question for you guys - 1st gen Total Chaos +3.5 kit... when adding secondary bypasses do you have to cut off the OEM bump mounts and if so all 4 or just the rears? Trying to figure out bump stop options

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
:notsure: Gotta have some sort of bump stop. The only way you'd cut all 4 out is if you're installing hydros.

The OEM bumps screw directly into the frame, so there's no mount to remove.

Here's Total Chaos' 1st gen double cab with a secondary shock. You can't see the rear bump because the spindle is in the way, but I'm sure it's in there. Not sure what it would interfere with.

Aaaand, here's @Sunnier 's TC setup. No secondary shock in there, but the rear bump is in there.

The Solo XLT kit comes setup to run a secondary bypass AND hydro bump but it is pricier than the Total Chaos kit. Note how it's mounted to the outside of the frame, towards the front of the truck.

I'm planning on Durobumps just wasn't sure if just the front two or all four. They actually have two different bumps with different dims for front and rear of the arm, I figured the fronts might stay but wasn't sure on rear

Mine are Wheelers Super Bumps. But if you can do it, get hydrobumps.

I have hydros for the rear but don't think they're that necessary for the front if you have bypasses, as those can be valved with a bump zone. And I'm over Superbumps, they work decently but longevity.... not so much. Went through 3 sets on my Tacoma lol

    Thanks for the input all!

What fox shocks did you add? And most likely only an 1” if anything.

You should watch this YouTube channel. Lots of good info.
