I have read one article that mentioned that the TRD-Pro Model will be delayed to the spring of next year. Related to the I-Force Mask Hybrid engine option.

Can anyone confirm that. Have they heard similar?

    Thank you

We know for sure that the trd pro is being delayed until March (there is an official footnote on the toyota.com website), but I think the reason for the delay (the hybrid option) is speculation... though it seems the most logical to me.

Thank you Stecky. I would think they would have said, the I-Max option will not be available until spring of 2022. To your point, I dont see another reason with the TRD Pro model/trim would be delayed for any other reason

Well, they did apparently make the Pro wider so maybe some fancy suspension, the manufacturing of which is delayed?

Do other brands "reveals" also NOT include specs/ordering/pricing info or is this just a Toyota thing that is obnoxious

I am almost certain that it is the hybrid powerplant that is delayed until march. That is what I've heard through the owner of the local toyota dealership.

Yes. This is not unique to Toyota, and most brands will have a press event specifically to test drive the vehicle, learn about more specs and pricing. Often pricing is not finalized until those events, same with fuel economy.

Before spending the scratch on a new high end model ...you'd have to test drive with and without the hybrid before final decision so kinda weird delaying ALL hybrids until march 2022. Probably it's just the Pro delayed !

toyota has been delaying hybrid roll outs since the last gen rav4 hybrid. its a normal thing for them to come out a few months later.

I went to my local dealer which was totally useless. They would not say why there is a delay and if it had anything to do with the hybrid engine. I have decided to wait and order exactly what I want when we are able to do so or look at a something else.

Even if they know, which seems unlikely, do you really think they'd be allowed to tell you?

I placed an order (Sale order, so I reckon it is part of their allocation) and they had all the specs (interior, exterior, etc) for the models with the TTV6 but had nothing on any of the hybrid offerings regardless of the model. I think it is a delay on all hybrids but it seems that no one has any clear answers

Mind sharing what you ordered, what you paid, and what part of the country you live in? We're all anxious for any scrap of detail we can get :D

Hey Stecky. I just posted the dealer spec sheet for the TTV6 platinum I ordered. It can be found here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/platinum-and-1794-dealer-spec-sheet.96131/

There was no price tag but I did not sign on the dotted line, so if I don't like it, then I can back away. I'm in Canada and I put in an unofficial deposit back in May. I'll edit my personal details out of the sales order and post it.

I'm new to the forum. My dealer was out in Vegas at the GMs meeting and said all hybrid power trains would start production in March. He said to expect a phone call likely in January regarding allocation for either a trd pro or imax 1794.

I listened to the TFLtruck podcast on the subject of the 2022 tundra, the topic being if they “did enough” with it to compete. They said on there with what sounded like perfect certainty from what I could tell, that the Max drivetrain is delayed until spring.

I placed a G deposit on a TRD Pro with my dealer, no specifics yet until he gets the exact options available. He said in February they’re going to have a dealer test drive event I believe in Michigan that he is hoping to attend. Seems like that’s consistent with what you’re saying. Hopefully the can get people their TRD Pros by late March/early April

Hey all, from Oklahoma. Dealer is not pre-ordering but am 3rd on the list for the Pro. Currently have a 21 Pro Lunar Rock and they are VERY interested in getting it. No money down yet but working on it. I'm getting the Super White Pro. Excited for it.

Website says March 2022. Not a delay, but rather the release date.
