I have been looking for a while now for a decent mileage 2uzfe for my tundra and I have had no luck. Does anybody know anywhere I can find a engine. I live in South Carolina so I am trying to keep it within like 500miles to get it. Flordia, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, ETC.

I would prefer a long block, I did find some on ebay actually. Would an 07 tundra engine fit in an 08 tundra. because on ebay it shows like 05-07 tundra engine but doesnt show it fits an 08, shouldn't they be around the same dimensions.

I had a good experience with Foreign Engines a few years back. A friend brought me a CRV with a "blown engine" and a replacement from that shop in Lynnwood. I discovered that the old engine was OK and just put some of the parts provided by FE into the old engine to get it up and running. They were cool with us doing a return and just charged us for the parts we used; that was certainly a surprise!

Facelift brought new options.. and I use facelift loosely, as in revised squarish rear tail lights, an additional "vent" on the grill and the rock warrior with 17 inch wheels.

I know places like o'reileys and auto zone you can order long blocks from , don't know about a Tundra engine but it might be worth looking in to.

May I ask what happened to your engine? The 2UZ is one of the most reliable engines out there.

It was the most reliable truck I have had, but I was doing a radiator in it and left the radiator out while I went to work and someone started it and left it running till it overheated and blew a head gasket. So I figured at 257k I might as well get a new engine. Cause idk how to do a head gasket

Has anyone delt with A & A Auto and Truck. I keep seeing their engines with low miles but I have heard alot of bad things about them but also some good things.

from digging around slightly most of the places offering long blocks are out of stock an need a buildable core.

    but a couple questions first
1.) when it was started and left running till it blew a head gasket was it turned off? Or did it continue to run drive till it was completely dead?

depending on that answer just doing or even having a head gasket done would be highly cheaper than a unknown engine from wrecking yard. At that point it just depends on if machine work needs to be done to resurface the block or heads.

I was at work when the person started the truck and left it running, so I can only assume how long it was running for. But from my guess I would say around 30minutes to an hour is my best guess.

But from what I heard they said it wasn't running long maybe 30 minutes and it would fire up and it's not like I would hear a knocking or anything that sounds like an internal failure. Just some misfires, white smoke, and exhaust fumes in the coolant. I found a shop that'll do it for a decent price luckily to do both head gaskets and I am gonna get them do a leak-down test before I do it.

may have to check the heads for excessive warpage... I mean they already warp due to heat and mileage, best case just a failed head gasket.

Yup, I already will have them machine the heads and take a look at them. I hope it is just the head gasket
