    Hi,
New to this forum and wanted to say hello. I just purchased a 2020 Ltd this two days ago. And the modifier in me can't leave anything alone.

I was wondering if anyone here has taken off the grill on a 2020 Tundra. I looked and maybe I missed it when I searched. I don't want to create unnecessary posts. I know to remove the top bolts and it feels like it's still attached down below. I've read on 2018 and 2019 that you just have to give it a good pull. But I just want to male sure. Any direction or help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I have taken my 2020 grill off at least 8 times since January for various reasons. Remove the 4 10mm bolts on top of the grill, remove the 2 push pins on the left and right side of the top of the grill, remove the tundra cover on top and disconnect the tss sensor, tilt the top of the grill forward and start with the left side of the bottom by the headlight and pull outwards, then the right side. Thats it. There are 3 detents in the bottom that hold the bottom in that you just use pressure to pull out or push back in.

Been looking for a post like this one...I want to swap out my grill with either a TRD Pro grill or the Honeycomb style grill and hood bulge (color matched). Spoke with the dealership, and parts guy says the 2020 grills cant be swapped out yet due to the radar in the grill? Anyone else have issues with this?

I've found that it depends which month your 2020 was produced. My 2020 can swap with 2018 Platinum grilles no problem, but later-produced 2020s have a new emblem mount that won't swap over. It's all checkable by your VIN.

You can buy a new honeycomb pro grille through sparks parts with a color matched bulge and grille surround. You will need a garnish to put the sensor onto, you can either go OEM which is some crap like $340 or go with Ares Customs like I did for $65

This is incorrect. All 2018 and above will have TSS so the Toyota emblem is the safety sensor. You swapped with a platinum because it came from a TSS truck, you would not have been able to swap with a 2017 or under Platinum.

Since he is asking about pro grilles and not platinum grilles, the answer will be yes you can swap to either style pro grille, you will just need to address the TSS. The older pro grille (2014-2017) can work with TSS you just need to buy a bracket for it. Lots of people have done it.

The mounting for the TSS has changed for some 2020s. Roman has a whole thread about it.

Interesting, I have not seen it. Well my only point of experience will be that the honeycomb pro grille for sure works with my 2020 Sport, with a Ares Customs garnish

Yeah, another user and I were going back and forth. Roman said the 2018 Platinum should NOT have worked on my Tundra, but then by checking VIN you can see the production months are different so it swapped right over.

It seems Toyota changed the mounting hardware mid-production year.

I bought the 2019+ trd pro grille and color matched bulge from Toyota of cool springs about 6 weeks ago and it turned out great. Haven’t had any issues with the TSS.

I swapped my 2020 SR5 honeycomb out for a 2020 Limited insert (I like that bit of chrome). I can verify that the emblems are different based on the time of production. I thought that they were the same but the mounting of the emblem was different. I don't know what month they changed in the production. The sensor mounted up fine though.

    Thanks Solace,
Looked through a few more threads and saw some replies from @Roman and others. Would have purchased from my local dealership but they weren't too helpful, so Toyota of Cool Springs will get my $$. Your rig looks sharp, BTW.

Has anyone had to have the TSS recalibrated after removing and re-installing the same grille?
Or maybe is there some process to follow like disconnecting the battery for x number of minutes before unplugging the TSS sensor... or something like that? Or can I just unplug and re-plug with no issues?

I'd like to have the chrome on the outside of my grille wrapped so it should really be removed and I'm a little afraid of having the TSS mess up and having to pay multiple hundreds of dollars to recalibrate at the dealership.
Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Did you go with OE garnish or aftermarket?

Mine worked fine after unplugging it, swapping the grille and plugging it back in.
