Like many others on here I have searched high and low to try and find someone manufacturing a high clearance front receiver hitch like the one CBI makes for the Tacoma and 4Runner with no luck. I even called CBI recently to see if this is something they are looking at manufacturing but unfortunately it’s not even on their radar.

To my surprise CBI informed me that these high clearance hitch receivers weren’t a big seller for them. Not sure if that has anything to do with their receivers not showing up on their website when you enter your vehicles info (Tacoma or 4Runner on their home page), but rather having to use their manual product search window…I digress.

For someone like myself that doesn’t go 4x4 every other weekend having a high clearance, low profile, lightweight 2 inch receiver that I can attach a removable winch to (or other accessories), something that can also help move my trailer around just makes complete sense.

Simply being able to attach a winch to the front or back of your vehicle sold me. Not to mention the added piece of mind when traveling with the family off-road.

With everything that I have read here and the personal interaction I have had I simply can’t believe there isn’t enough demand for such a product on the Tundra.

Unfortunately being able to fab up something like this myself is not in the cards but if anyone here is interested I’ll take one please!

I also thought it was weird that there is not one available considering that the tundra aftermarket is quite large.

That is EXACTLY what I want, someone was going to make one for me but he later had some family matters, I would buy one if someone decides to make it, would be a huge bonus if we can just mount a license plate frame to it.

Buy a SDHQ hidden winch mount. Cut a 1/4” steel plate to sit, and mount, where the winch would be and weld a receiver tube to the plate. Best part is your license plate would cover up the receiver tube

Bought and installed the drawtite myself and with a good 3.5" lift it has decent clearance plus it acts as a shield to block whatever gets pushed down by the Ranchhand bumper. Only good trick was bolting up bumper brackets, hitch brackets and the transport anchor points all at the same time with limited bolt length to work with. I like knowing that tall rocks or stumps in the grass will likely be found with the hitch before they catch the pumpkin.
