I have a 2015 Limited with 2018 Platinum full LED OEM lights and the iHacker harness with factory LED DRL dimming option. I love the LED DRL and I have the amber (turn signal) DRL off. However about 2 or so weeks ago my LED DRL stopped working. I thought it was a setting in the head unit and searched but nope. Checked everything in Techstream... still no. Checked fuses, switches, etc, nothing.... Anyone know where to start on this? I want my LED DRL back!

First thing, I would check for voltage at the pins that connect to the actual bulb base using a meter. If you don't have voltage start checking the rest of the circuit. Maybe rodent damages to your wires.

They work with the parking lights and headlights on which is odd. It is like there is something in the DRL circuit that is messed up. That is what has me baffled.

Seems to me like your missing a bad fuse, did you check the panel in the cab? Small black box up above parking brake about 1.75" wide 5" long way up in there with snap on black cover and mini micro fuses inside it.

I am having similar issues DRL worked on stock platinum/1794 headlights. Swapped for 2018 platinum oem led with iHacker harness. DRL no longer works when headlight switch is on auto. Did you figure out what was up with yours?

Unfortunately no. I have checked all the fuses and do not have a DRL one. The LED strips light when the parking lights are on and headlights but not in AUTO when the light sensor doesn't call for lights. It is the strangest thing. Unless @iHacker has some input, when I get time I plan on pulling my lower dash panel and double checking all the connections to/from his harness just to make sure nothing went crazy.

My DRL fuse is a 7.5 amp under the hood, behind the battery. Top left on my underhood fuse box diagram.

I don't have a fuse there and doesn't look like one has been there before. I know I didn't pull it. My truck didn't come with LED DRL being a 2015 Limited so I am assuming that is why. I will try a fuse there when I get home and see if that works but I'm not holding my breath.

Hello sir, I’m going to suggest you to go back and inspect your connections under dashboard specifically the connection between the relay black wire to flasher DRL gray wire.

If this looks ok then the problem might be in the firewall wire plug, sometimes when people insert the metal pin into the connector they they did it in the wrong side of the plug so this don’t lock correctly, should be fine and work for sometime but it can stop working when the metal pin slide off the plug

Double check this plug and make sure the wire doesn’t slide out when you give it a tug

Also I mentioned this before in AUTO mode the light sensor is what de decide if operate the DRL or the parking lights and this is how the lights worked before and most people never noticed that until they switched to the new headlights, in fact your lights might still be working but in parking mode (LED DRL dimmed) which is hard to notice in daylight, you didn’t noticed this before with the amber light because you still noticed the amber light just a little dull/dimmed but still there (not the same case with the New parking lights AKA DRL dimmed mode)

AUTO headlights option :( mess with this issue most of the time but nothing related to the installation or harness itself and is just how the ECU was designed to work from Toyota

Just got my kid from school and she helped me test it out. No problems with the truck, @iHacker harness or OEM led lights, only my understanding of how it worked. The DRL turns on when the parking break is released and stays on until I turn the truck off with the lights in Auto. I didn't know that.

Just thinking...Maybe those without the DRL can add the relay and fuse? That is, I wonder if it's already wired up and missing the relay and fuse?

You sir know your product! The relay to gray wire was fine. My issue was the red wire with the plug that goes through the firewall. The connector was not making contact within the housing. This is a recent change as I have had these lights for about a year now. No biggie though as I was able to temporarily remove the side that slides off and plug the connector straight into the plug. As I get time this week I will cut that plug off and replace it with another one so it will be fully insulated.

Probably just need to re-seat the metal pin tinto plug only double check if this is possible before cutting your wiring
