Just read one post and the guy said he got 75K on his and ordered another set. Haven’t found a tire yet that some absolutely love and some absolutely hate……and it’s the same tire. Opinions all over the place. Oh well guess I’ll find out for myself. Plus the truck only drives in good weather, no snow, rain or off road. I’m thinking the tires will last longer than me. :)

I went through couple sets of Revo's on my current truck. They were very good, until they weren't. Something went wrong with either a new tread design or tire compound and I swapped over to Duratracs. The Duratracs have been great! Wet traction has always been good, but they've been exceptional in the snow whether its getting in/out of the mountains for hunting or for a powder day at the ski hill. Been fine in the mud, can't speak for how they handle sand.

Great looking truck you have! Looks a lot like to one I have on order that should be getting to the dealership either today or tomorrow.

Ya a lot of folks recommend those. I already purchased mine so the deal is done! Should have them installed mid next week. I’ll let you know what I think of them after I get a few miles on them. Just don’t hold your breath…… I’ve had the truck now for 2 weeks and just went over 100 miles. :)

Get’n the Old Pro Grille ready to take apart today! Then it’s a several coats of wax while it’s apart so it will be ready for the stock insert once I get the 3 satin plastic chrome bars dipped with a darker gray.

Plus I’ll reinstall my “Red” Tow Hooks.

Not sure what else is on the agenda for today……

Surprisingly really good. It is all Toyota OE parts so you would think it would be decent. Won’t really know for sure until it’s all installed. But from the gazillions of others who color matched their surrounds I have t heard any complaints.

Fingers crossed….don’t want to be the first. :)

Well I never got to the grille today. Instead since the weather is so nice I decided to install the Remote Tailgate Lock. Took my time and it was very easy to do. The instructions were actually very good for the most part. Plus I had already watched a couple YouTube videos days/weeks ago so it all went well.

I like the idea of having the tailgate locked and not needing to use the key. Do I even have a key hmmm. :)

Anyway, got my dark gray dip so I’ll redo the stainless steel steps in between the plastic pads. Don’t really like how it looks in the gunmetal Gray. Too lite and sorta bluish looking.

Should be picking up my Fender Flares tomorrow! I’ll let the paint harden/cure for several days before I install them. Plus I think I might order the Black fog lights so I’d need to install those first or I’d have to remove the front flares to do the install.

Then I can get the grille project going.

Boy oh Boy it’s always something.

I didn't get to the sway bar, actually attempted to. Got the bolts out of the frame easy peasy. Opened up sway bar to find no hardware with it. Was pretty bummed!

What’s the part number? Just curious how much Boch South sells it for.

Not much difference in cost. I just show my parts manager the Boch price and they match it, so no shipping and I’m always going somewhere close to the dealership so it’s not like out of my way.

Worth asking your parts manager if they will price match. Good to know for future mods.

    Inch by Inch……

Got the old pro grille separated so the Cement Surround is ready for the stock grille insert. Put several coats of WAX on it and the Hood Bulge

Still going to be a few days before I will have a chance to work on that mod.

    Slowly but Surely……

Not sure what the resell value is for the old pro grille…

Exciting day! Picked up the Fender Flares and they look Awesome. Very happy. Shop told me after I install them to call and schedule a time to stop by so they can Cut & Buff the flares.

Got back home and had just enough time left to yank the stock grille and bulge. Tomorrow I’ll start the disassembly of the stock grille. Hopefully I’ll get the insert bars dipped dark gray, the bumper end caps, and the center portion of the black plastic fascia. I’ll have to see what’s involved in removing it. Make the dipping a lot easier.

Also picked up the Black Fog Lights so those will need to be installed after the dipping is done!

Gonna be a Fun days tomorrow!

Separated the old pro grille and now have a brand new Cement Surround :)

Last evening I removed the stock limited grille/surround from the truck. This morning I removed the 4 screws (2 on each end) and then using just my hands I gently pressed on the tab and pulled on the edge of the grille and sure enough the tab slid out with ease.

So I figured if one came out that easy I’ll just start working my way down and tab after tab by just gentlypulling on the frame/body of the grille and only pushing downwards on the tab with my thumb. Had all kinds of tools on the ready but didn’t use/need any of them.

Now I have to see if the 3 bars going across the face of the grille can be removed. If I can get those off it will make dipping them a breeze/No taping required which it seems like that half the time is spend just on the prep work get’n ready for the paint.

I’ll post a few pics later.

    Nice looking grille!

Are those bumper caps stock or did you dip/paint them?

Had to take my pup to the vet this afternoon so I had a delay doing my projects. Miss Bailey is doing good, apparently she stuck her nose into a spiders nest and got bit several times on her mug. The spider toxins of course started to spread and itch and she rubbed her mug tearing open the bumps. Cleaned everything out last night and put some neosporin on and gave her Benadryl.

Vet put her on antibiotics and some itching pills. Said she will be just fine. Stressed my out so much last night I barely slept. So we are all doing much better now!

    They look really good.

I’m dipping mine hopefully tomorrow if it’s not raining. If I don’t like the dark gray dip I’ll order replacement caps and get them painted/color matched.

When I got back from the vet I started prepping the stock grille insert for the dark gray dip. Thought about separating the 3 satin chrome bars but way way too many clips. Plus not having the right tool for the job it woulda taken longer than wrapping/taping off everything.

Couple Pictures of the backside/clips. Plus pictures of the dipped grille. Hard to tell/see how it’s gonna look until I get it all back together.

    Slowly but surely!

Then I removed the black plastic front fascia. Dipping the center part of it as well. Real real pain in the butt to remove. 3 screws/nuts to remove where it’s connected to the bumper caps on the inner side. Super tight quarters to say the least. Barely could fit my hand and socket and the bottom I couldn’t fit a socket on it so I had to use a small wrench. Think it’s going to be a nightmare getting that bottom one back on.

Also removed the stock fog lights, will replace with the Black TRD Pro fogs, and the parking sensors in preparation for the dip. I’ll use several coats of black first and once I have really good coverage I’ll switch over to the dark gray.

If the weathers nice enough tomorrow I’ll get the grille, fascia and bumper caps a couple coats of rust-oleum Matte Clear Enamel. Just to really harden the dip since it’s in the front of the truck and will be hit with plenty of crap. Plus it will make easier to clean/wash.

Started early and got the Grille and Fascia sprayed with several coats of Matte Clear Enamel. Should be good to go!

Prepped the truck bumper chrome caps for dipping. Came out really nice and even got several coats of Matte Clear Enamel on them before the RAIN…RAIN…RAIN…. Tomorrow I should be able to get it all put together and be done with it.

Put the new Color Matched Surround with the dipped stock grille. Also got the Fascia ready to reinstall.

A few pictures but it’s kinda hard to really see what it will all look like reinstalled. Think it’s gonna be pretty good.

    Your thoughts/comments appreciated

Yeah, people seem to love them or hate them. For a different perspective, I’m very happy with mine. They aren’t noisy, although that might be because I only have about 14k miles on them. But they are absolutely flawless off-road. I have nothing but very positive experiences with them on gravel, dirt, large rocks, mud (including mud pits), and in sand and snow. The are three-peak snow rated in my size (285/75R18).

The downside is that they feel like LT tires on pavement, and my truck is slightly slower off the line. That trade-off is fine by me.

Oh, last thing: it seems that the people who like Duratracs also rotate their tires every 3k miles. I certainly do. Maybe they wear faster if you go longer between rotations?
