I've read that all Tundra's are built in Texas. This would include all Tundra's for export to other Countries.
So, I had a thought today. I wonder if the vehicles for export sold to really hot area's like the Middle East or Africa are equipped the exact same way as those sold in North America.
In other words, did Toyota delete the TRANSMISSION Cooler (clarified for those that thought we were talking about center console coolers) in 2019 for the export market?
Would be great if one of the Toyota San Antonio employees could comment or confirm.
I'm betting that it was not deleted for the export market.

I don’t think there is much of an export market for Tundra, a least not as a regular thing. Hilux fills the market elsewhere. My understanding is, the Tundra exists to satisfy the U.S. truck buyer’s desire for “big”. Many (most) other countries don’t have wide roads like we do to accommodate a big truck.

We’ve had a couple of guys find and join this forum from other countries… it sounds like they found a broker to buy the truck here and get it shipped elsewhere.

Do the Hilux's have coolers on them?

Tundra's definitely not for overseas markets as there are no machine gun mounts.:)

Even if they did, it really would not be a even comparison as the Hilux is closer to a Taco than a Tundra and the engines much smaller. The Landcruiser might be a better comparison.

Thanks. Very surprising as I'd think the Australian market would have strong demand and certainly has the geography for such a vehicle.
Although I'm sure the transportation costs and import taxes are probably cost prohibitive.

Are you sure? I just saw a post on FB Tundra's and Trailers section, and a poster (with a Tundra) was in Greece.

Right, I'm not comparing the two obviously. But i'm sure consumers tow things with their hilux's in other countries. Especially in hot climates.

OZ has importer bring them in and do RHD conversion, but never sold by Toyota Australia.

There were some exported to Middle East via official channels, but they stopped I think back in 2017/2018, you can still find lots of grey importer, as far as I know, there are no official export of Tundra to South America for the facelift version, they focus on Hilux or Land Cruiser 70s for pick ups.

Toyota doesn't export to the middle east. If anything, it's some less-than-stellar auctioneers or whoever that will buy vehicles second hand for export to the middle east. It got so bad that the justice department was investigating Toyota for potential terrorism support because so many Toyotas were in the ISIS propaganda vehicles. It got dismissed though, because Toyota pretty much said they can't control what people do with their cars once they're bought. A Texas plumber was getting a lot of death threats for a while too, when the truck he sold with his company brand on the truck somehow ended up in the middle east and was in the background of an ISIS propaganda video or whatever.

In Canada. My TRD Sport came with the trailer brake controller. Is that the tow package? There is a lower rad that sure looks like a tranny cooler to me. Sorry for the pic.IMG_3475.jpg

That’s your ac condenser and lines. No 2020 came from the factory with a trans cooler.

I thought the lower one was a/c. Or is that one for power steering ?

If you mean the darker colored one that’s long and narrow behind your bumper, then yes it’s the power steering cooler.

I wouldn't think the Tundra would sell very well overseas due to it's gas mileage and the high cost of gas elsewhere in the world.

The hilarious part is I actually thought OP was talking about this instead of creating yet another trans cooler thread.

lmao reread the whole thread. it's so vague that it can either be about the center console cooler or the trans cooler hahaha

but in all seriousness...now i really want the center console cooler mod!

Look at the prices for a Tundra in Aus. My brother-in-law would love one but just shakes his head at the prices. Cooler concerns are not even in the equation.

    Function before sparkle.
Technically not correct. You can buy Tundras in a few other locations albeit in very small numbers. For example, you can get doublecabs in New Caledonia (between Australia and Fiji)

    https://toyota.nc/modeles/tundra

Edit and you can get new FJ Cruisers in Bolivia!

Fun fact, the Tundra in Mexico is allowed to use a wide variety of oils not just 0w20 since there's no CAFE standards in Mexico. Since discovering this I use 15w40 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter. Unless you live in Alaska keep 0w20 oil of your engine.

The thread topic is and was about Tundra's being sold as export items and if so, are they equipped with TRANSMISSION COOLERS. It was pretty well on topic until you decided to throw in a center console topic. So, it appears that only you and 50Shades are very confused people. Have fun.

Bruh, nothing in your post or title says TRANSMISSION.

Yeah I misunderstood and posted about a different cooler. So what? It's not like I thread jacked the only thread in existence about trans coolers. Not like this subject hasn't been beaten to death repeatedly .
