About a month or so ago, I traded in my 15 Platinum 4x4 CM for a 17 TRD Pro DC.
As soon as I took the first test drive, the TRD Pro “felt” faster.
Do the Pro’s have any sort of different gearing or shift points that the other model’s don’t that could account for this? It could just be familiarity, or weight difference between a CM and DC, a combination of both and/or just all in my head. This is my 5th Tundra I’ve owned (1x 1st gen, 2x 2nd gen, 2x 2.5gen) and like to think I’m pretty informed on the ins and outs of them, but I can with confidence say I had to work to get the rear end to kick out in the crew max, but this DC seems eager to even when it’s not wet out.
The big differences besides the obvious were I had my 15 DAP tuned, 35x12.5x18’s (34.5” actual), 5100’s all around on top setting and Corsa cat back. The 17 TRD Pro is all stock to my knowledge except 20” Texas edition wheels w/ 305/55/20 tires.

yeah, I bet what you felt is the reduced rotation mass of the 35's in the stock PRO. I can feel the different in power alone when I switch over from my 275/70r18 Duratrac to my winter setup with 255/70r18 Blizzaks

35s are a power and fuel suck.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Its because of the DC, cool factor adds 50hp. Stickers definitely help, especially the Tundras.com and Toyomafia slaps, can't hardly keep the tires from spinnin'...

Lighter truck, plus weight balance is more forward, plus much lighter wheels and tires, plus the Pro probably sounds throatier.
