Welp. It's been since august when I brought it home and while my mods aren't anywhere near what a lot of you guys do, I'm pretty happy with where the truck sits right now. It's mostly functionality driven.

Here's shortly after I brought it home (I had to wax it).
    IMG_4503.jpg
It's a 2014 sr5 trd PR package. Sky silver metallic (naturally the best color). Certified pre-owned it had a tonneau cover (my first tonneau on 4 trucks). Technically it's a "mod", but it was in there when I got it.

    List of mods:
18" magnaflow welded to stock pipes.
    Husky Weatherbeaters fronts and rear
    BFG AT KO2 275/70 r18
Tinted front windows to match the rear
Diaz fabrication "model t" grille emblem
Interior LED swap (JDM Astar & VLEDs)
Rear (reverses light) LEDs JDM Astar
    Phillips ultinon Led headlights.
    Morimoto XB fog lights
Auxbeam 30" 180W LED bar in the bumper

    As she sits nowIMG_5120.jpg

    My first mod:
I bought a Tundra not an Prius. Needed some growl IMG_4492.jpgIMG_4493.jpg
18" magnaflow. Little bit of rumble at start up. Growls when you get on it. Maybe drones at highway speed. Not enough for me to be bothered by it.

2nd and more mods: LED lights -
Reverse: JDM AstarIMG_5130.jpgLove the amount of light they provide in reverse.
    IMG_5131.jpg
Interior swap. Combo of JDM Astar and VLEDS.
    Thanks @TTU19 & @joonbug

Phillips ultinon LED bulbs. Had them about a week. Love the output. No weird glare. Haven't been flashed yet.
Morimoto XB fogs installed today. Haven't driven them in the dark. They match the color temp of the headlights very well. Thanks @eledobleu
    IMG_5126.jpg

Auxbeam 30" 5D cree LED bar in the bumper. Followed a DIY from TT. Went well. Super happy with the output. Accomplishes exactly what I want and what I got it for. (Dark country roads. Some hunting / mountain bikes / hiking. Thanks to @Sixpack for the help IMG_5127.jpg

Next. Truck had 40k miles on it. So did the Michelin racing slicks. Needed to replace those before the winter hit so I did.
Went with BFG AT KO2 275/70r18

Love the aggressive look and capabilities. Not too loud. Great on dry pavement, slush, mud, deep powder (10" or so) - everything is slick on ice. 9.8/10 for my needs. Great tire. IMG_4787.jpgIMG_5091.jpg IMG_4719.jpg

Next. Tinted the fronts to match the rear windows. Definitely necessary with a black interior.
    IMG_5120.jpg
Really happy with the look and performance.

Early on- I got on this site and got a ton of ideas (in fact probably all of the ideas came from this site. Thanks!) I kept seeing the "pro grille" and while I really like the look of the pro grille, I wanted to be a little different. So I installed the "model T emblem" on my stock grille. Got the idea from @Medic - thanks! IMG_4620.jpg

Clean, nice looking truck. I get where you're coming from. This forum is awesome to see all the off road monsters, but for what I use my truck for (utility, work) 90 percent of those mods are unrealistic for my needs as well as my pocket book.

First update in 3 years. I’m still calling this a “build” thread as a joke. But just to make the truck “known”.

Finally wore out the 275/70r18 KO2s (57k) and wanted a little more tire/lift.
so here it is today. Mickey Baja Boss AT in 295/70r18. Fox adjustable coil overs set at 2” up front. Truck rides so much better than before. Really happy with the Fox suspension. Pleased with the 1st 4 miles on the tires too. I wanted KO2s again but the back order was insane.
This is how these trucks should look from the factory IMO. D03597FE-B49A-4739-996F-DA6C2E42EDF5.jpgE9711B3C-FCB8-48E6-B4F6-849DEC25F42A.jpg A8F78D86-AE65-4E69-8EAB-FC944A786971.jpgB421A576-C4E6-40C5-A1CF-678624794DA2.jpg

cool building you took pics in and nice rig. You may want to get some fluid film on that frame!

Other updates in the last 3 years:

I replaced my soft tonneau cover with a truck covers usa retractable cover courtesy of @NUMB LOCK. Love that thing.

Also some step bars (a friend had them laying around and didn’t want them) no idea brand or type. But I dig em.

Some a-hole broke off my stubby antenna. I don’t listen to the radio so… meh.

2 rounds of inspection/ re-tint the front windows before I just gave up. NY sucks.

none of the door locks work, so I just don’t lock it.

driver side overhead cabin light shorted out. Tried a couple of new led “bulbs” nothing worked so, whatever it’s bright enough.

put some 3M dual lock on the backside of an apple MagSafe charger. Have it sitting right under the driver’s side center console vent. It holds my iPhone 12 really well and charges fast. We’ve got some roads that couldn’t pass for Fallujah and the phone stays put.
    I think that’s probably it.

    edit:

the magnaflow muffler catastrophe rusted out. So I just bought a new mid pipe off of auto anything or carID or somewhere. Cut the mess off and re-bolted. Stock muffler sound again. Which I’m fine with.

Time to update this with the New (to me) Truck.
Traded in my 2014 SSM DC for a 2019 MGM CM.
    A couple of reasons why:
    1. I wanted to.
    2. 2014 ran like a top but had some gremlins (door locks and such, dented bed panel, tailgate assist was shot, dented)
    3. Had some different needs. Needed more cab than bed. Wanted a 38 gal tank.
Also the rear window in a crewmax is so gnarly.
    So here we are.

Shopping Carts & Ripping Darts - the Grocery Getter Build:

At the dealer (w/ ole boy in the background)
    E2C9A5BF-0B55-4AF3-B277-20534E6F261B.jpg
    Home in the driveway.

this is going to be a more practical “build” than the last truck. Big tires were fun but I think I’m done with that phase of life.

Interior LED swap. VLEDs in the Dome, maps and vanity lights. 5000k temp. Very pleased.
    7545F23E-C6D4-4FD3-BA6D-7D187FA1E667.jpg
OEM TRD Pro LED head lights (VLEDs reverse lights in the tails). extremely happy with the performance of the headlights. Just absolutely incredible.

    That’s all for now.

    Wishlist/todo:
    1. ESP underseat storage
    2. Possible leather seat upgrade with heaters.
    3. Actual all terrain tires this fall before the white stuff arrives. Bridgestone duelers 275/65r18 stocks on there now. p-rated so a little squishy for my taste. I doubt I’ll go larger than 275/70r18
    4. BD squadron sport amber fogs.
    5. Really loved the fox 2.0 suspension I had on the old truck. Will likely do that again with no lift or 1” max (up front)
    6. When the roll up soft tonneau goes, I’ll probably do another retractable one. That was nice (other than when it would freeze open or shut)

Just a couple of +5hp mods:

probably just a gimmick. But we’ve got an epidemic. And I’ve steered clear. *knocks on wood*

Big thanks to @MALIBU1794DC for the leather seat hookup.
Just had these installed today. ALEA brand. Leather is thick but soft. The seats are so much more comfortable. Maybe it’s never been in a Toyota truck but I’ve seen tan/beige leather in dark gray trucks and I’ve always liked the color combo. So maybe it’s a thing or maybe it isn’t. But it’s definitely unique/rare, so that makes me more of a fan of it. Ok, enough words.

Again. Super happy with how it turned out and looks like ole Natty Ma is gonna give me a chance to test the seat heaters tomorrow morning with 30°F as our forecasted temps.

Hey man, the valve stem covers are cool but I would be careful with them. I had some metal covers on my Tacoma and spent 1 salty winter in northern New York (Plattsburgh area) and found that they had all seized. Had to get them off with vice grips and completely took the threads off my valve stems.

ESP underseat storage. Took me about 30 min from opening the box to cutting the template to install - much needed mod

this painters tool was a huge help with the foam removal once the initial cuts were made with the linoleum knife.

still in the market for a roll up or small tool kit that fits in the pans. thanks.

These are actual leather replacement upholstery similar to katzkins. Cloth comes off, leather goes on. Maybe that’s what you meant by cover, but I just wanted to clarify.

The seats are now more comfortable than they used to be. I’ve never had a problem with the cloth tundra seats (2014 sr5 DC and now 2019 sr5 CM), but I did notice an improvement when these were installed. Particularly in the back area. Thick leather, but soft if that makes sense. Nicer than any other vehicle I’ve been in/owned in terms of leather seats honestly. GM, ford, Audi, Volvo, Lexus, BMW (I’ve ridden in these not owned all of them).
I hope they’re as durable as they are comfortable. I’ll certainly update as time passes.

EEDD4E55-AC33-493F-BF57-44BA352D0BBA.jpg Went and picked up these TRD OR wheels wrapped in Michelin LTX at2 this morning and my dealer had a cancellation this afternoon so I was able to get them installed with the TPMS sensors working etc. I was torn between some aftermarket wheels but I really think this is the best looking wheel made for our trucks. Not super aggressive or wild but not bland and boring like the ones I had on there previously.

A very very big thank you to @GT87 for holding these for me so we could meet a little closer for pickup and an amazing deal. Great dude.

Here just as promised barely sneaking into the morning (EST).
Did some changes to the ole Procery Getter and even put it through its paces mobbing some parking lots and hitting some parking block whoops.

Big thanks to @HulkSmurf14 for the falcon coil overs. Had them set in the “middle” setting for 1” of lift up front (I like rake).
Another big thanks to @HornetOne3 for the 5100’s (I only installed the rears).

Tires are Nitto Recon grappler LT285/70r18.

Love the improved stance and handling of the suspension and tires. Not as mushy feeling anymore (stock sr5 black shock nonsense). No notice of loss of power in the butt dyno either. Tires are very light (59lbs I believe) and didn’t feel any extra weight braking.

Just overall really pleased with how it turned out. No rubbing anywhere. Can make full lock turns, etc.
Thanks everyone for checking in. You can return to your real truck stuff now.

Thanks man. I’m really happy with it. Just need to get the RCI skid on it, and attach the unswingable swing case and I think I might be good

Purchased a VEVOR (seemed to be the best, most durable of the scamazon knockoffs).
The plan is to pop a few holes in the bed side of it, some framework out of super strut, and mount a “quick” release to the bed rail when I need to dump rocks/dirt/mulch in the bed.

*quick release will be some combo of the t-bolt and the spring loaded twist nut from some OEM bedrail tie downs. Just so I don’t have to drill in the bed panel. Leery of accelerated salt corrosion.
