I've been following this release for a while now. I'm a huge 4runner fan, and one of my BIGGEST gripes is beige headliner in a car you're spending in excess of 50k. I'm Canadian, so TRD Pro's run 70k+tax.

I saw the Tacoma TRD Pro come out with black headliner, so I waited MONTHS for the Tundra to show their redesign, fully expecting to see black headliner. And in the TRD Pro Tundra..they didn't release it.

Like WHY. Maybe I'm a maniac for wanting this but does anyone else feel the same way? There is no rhyme or reason with toyota, I swear. Older generation 4Runners have black headliner, but then they went back to beige? WHERE IS THE LOGIC LOL.

1794 edition is more of a Gucci trim

Feels like such a simple measure they could take in such an expensive truck.

Yeah, I've been anticipating for an all-black interior too! I was kinda disappointed when I saw the beige interior.

I haven't seen a black interior on a 4th gen yet. Can you show some pictures?

Many things could be better to include not making the ass end look like a bolted on afterthought.

The second gen headliner is grey, isn't it? What's wrong with that?

I went back to look and I might be wrong. I swore I saw one near my street a while ago. My mistake.

Just an opinion. Anytime I've ever sat in fully spec'd f150, or any luxury/sports/performance car - the black headliner at night makes the car look incredible. Always been a stricking point for me.

Black headliner for the win! Love all-the black interior in the TRD Tacomas!

Not saying I agree or like them, but I believe the feeling is that a lighter color makes you feel more open and less confined. Especially when you consider the lack of headroom some have complained about.

All pickups are like that chief, that photo looks little awkward because it's a long bed. All long beds look weird IMO.

Oh really. Show us on the Chevy where it has a body molded rear bumper that's going to pop out of alignment with the rest of the truck the 1st time it takes a hit.

The lines on the back of the 2022 remind me of the batmobile.

I kinda like the long bed actually . . .
My preferred configuration would be CrewMax + 6.5' bed :)

Well I certainly wasn't trying to say that taste in trucks for some is one step removed from a minivan.

I am 100% in agreement. The black headliner was something I was really hoping for, an all black interior just looks slick. My 2018 Tacoma TRD OR had the black interior so I was disappointed in my 19’ Tundra having the grey, it was a similar interior as my 12’ 4Runner. My Raptor has all black interior and I love it and wish we could get a Tundra with this option.

Ah, I see your point. I kinda like it but I kinda don't. It certainly makes the styling less aggresive
It now reminds me of the rear end of a honda ridgeline actually :|

But hey, overall, I think this new 4th gen is awesome

Bumper is not molded with rest of the body...it is still separate like other pickups.

I saw in one of the videos that the molded side caps of the rear bumper conceal the blind spot monitoring and trailer measurement system, which is why it is not metal. They did this likely to have the same tail light housing for all trucks (save cost), as opposed to the other competitors that have special tails when the option is equipped.

But you can't equipt the Platinum with the TRD Off Road package :(
    But you *CAN* with a 1794 :D

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Just take a couple cans of black Krylon to your headliner and make it black… and get high as a kite on paint fumes!

You can ruin your trucks interior and your lungs at the same time!

Wait, maybe that’s not such a good idea.
