Nothing new here...all 3 rear frame cross-members are rusted to crap. Any suggestions for sourcing a bolt-in solution? I've thought about trying to clean them up, but don't think there will be enough thickness when finished...no longer safe. From what I can tell these are riveted in and will take some work to remove, but then I can clean up and spray the frame.

I'm about to pull the bed off and repair all the rust in my 07, install a suspension lift, new hubs, bearings and back plates all around. Cross-members are the only concern at the moment. I need some tribal knowledge from this group. Thanks folks!

You could order them from Toyota and bolt them in.. I don’t know of any aftermarket solutions

Looking at the other thread you posted something on it looks like they are just bolted on. I wish I could have more info for you. I only have rust knowledge with Suzuki sidekicks and jeeps.

I’m looking at doing same thing well at least one crossmember, searching for rivet size and unable to find. Prefer to use rivets again instead of grade 8 bolt/nut. Have you had any luck?

Yes I did have frame checked at a dealer for the frame settlement. Said everything was “OK”. Then last year I was doing some needle scaling underneath and cleaning up prior to getting ready for winter salt season. The scaler blew through some metal mostly on the rear gas tank crossmember passenger side. I purchased crossmember but did not get around to it last year. Decided to fix prior to winter this year. Thought about even trading truck in but frame rails are in great shape and it runs great. It’s been family owned since new and all maintenance has been kept up on religiously. Only having 90k miles I just couldn’t see getting rid of it at this time and paying 8% above MSRP as one of my coworkers was just told when inquiring about a new truck price. I don’t know if things would of got this bad if I did my pre-kids upkeep that I used to perform on truck. However with work and kids, truck washing and preventative maintenance sometimes takes a back seat.

I am driving an 07 tomorrow. Had frame, gas tank, control arms, ball joints, etc all replaced in ‘19 under warrantee from Toyota. Guy said bed has 4 small rust holes at crossmember. Would the dealer not replace the crossmembers at the time of warrantee work? The frame is clean, I saw it yesterday while delivering a package to his house but didn’t have time to go too in-depth. I guess I’m just looking for some insight into this.. stay away or fo on a good deal
Has Hewitt bypass kit. 150k. Cold start sounded good

The frame replacement would of included the crossmembers. The bed probably had preexisting rust from the prior frame crossmembers being rusted out and transferring to the actual bed. I cut my rust out and welded patches to the bed. Depending on how bad the holes are currently will decide what you will need to do. Can try to find used bed from a better climate or fix holes yourself or see if local body shop can help. Some guys have fixed them and then had Bedliner sprayed over top with pretty good results. Expect this on about every 07-08 in road salt country.

Here’s the kicker. He sprayed bed liner over it so not sure how this will affect the cut and welding patches project? Will this make it a major PITA

Depends on few things. How many “layers” of bedliner are there but mine was line x and I cut with razor blade and was was able to get it up easily with a scraper leaving space for overlap to get all rust out and having solid metal around repair. I also took bed off for this which wasn’t necessarily difficult but need a few buddies to walk it off and of course had one bed bolt I rounded off the torx head and had to cut out…..
