2008 Tundra DC 4.7. The other day my engine light comes on.. and the 4x4 LO and other lights are flashing. Before I say any more. about 2 months ago I replaced my Drivers side Air injection valve. I had a P2440 code. Solved that problem, you will see why i mentioned that in a minute.

...So My light came on the other day, I pull the code P2714. which is the pressure control solenoid "D performance or stuck off code" And also noticed my transmission was acting funny. slow to shift into drive and when i come to a stop it would take a second or two before it shifted down to first. I reset the code. drove it for a bit and still have the transmission issue, but engine light stayed off....... so i make an appointment with my local toyota dealership to check it out. I thought maybe my transmission fluid was low or needed to be changed or this solenoid above was bad......

dealer calls me later in the day and says he pulled the codes P2445 and P2447, both Air Injection Pumps are acting up? and the replacement cost is $1800 . Does the ECU oR ecm or what ever stores the engine error codes, does it keep a history of past codes? Because i brought the truck in with engine light "OFF" and in the 12 years i have owned the truck the P2445 and P2447 codes have never come up on my Code reader. I looked into these two codes and the symptoms of either code mentions nothing about the transmission acting up. These are emissions related codes. The guy at the dealer says yes it can cause transmission issues. My spider senses call it BS. Like i said above, I replaced my air injection Valve a month or so ago and wondering if maybe those two codes(P2445 and P2447) might of be thrown then and stored. Not making any sense to me.

What are your thoughts on this?
    Thanks in advance.

There are definitely codes that won't pop on the check engine light, so that is absolutely a possibility. Air injection problems will also force your truck into limp home mode.

I would throw $200 at the bypass kit and see if that resolves the problem.

Hey audiowize. thanks for the advise. the truck is not in limp mode yet. a few months ago when i had the issue with the air injection valve, it took a week for the truck to go into limp mode. thing is my initial code was the 2714 indicating the transmission pressure control solenoid was acting up. only code i saw on my code reader. thanks for the advise. certainly not throwing 1800 bucks at, the bypass is a good option if that is the issue. cheers

Yeah, for $300 you could do the bypass and drop the transmission pan and clean things out.

don't know what code reader you have or if your looking in history but a code will remain in past codes , most cheap is readers have the ability but defiantly high end ones can view past codes. my Blue Driver I use can pull up past codes its also a great tool for when buying a new used vehicle being able to inspect the history.

Drain and fill your transmission... not sure when was the last time it was serviced, but it helped mine..

i use an OBDlink MX+ it works well and im still learning on setting up viewing live data. That my hope is doing a service and fixing it. I also have a P0722 speed sensor code but i dont think an oil change will fix that. It needs a full flush, i just picked it up and replaced the motor that had 220K on it so it needs love.

    thank you much
