Hard cover and cheap do not go together. Undercover flex is nice if you have deck rails

My caveat; The EFX is a basic clamp-on hard cover that will cover your bed contents keeping them reasonably secure and dry. Gator has a generous warranty, but, returns need to be pre-paid.
"GATOR Brand Tonneau Covers’s obligation under this Warranty is limited to repairing, or at its option, replacing any part that is returned, transportation prepaid, to GATOR Brand Tonneau Covers,......"
If there are no order errors or shipping damage you'll probably be happy with the Gator cover.

I have the UnderCover SE. It's a one-piece though. Everything has stayed 100% dry in the bed of the truck, even on a drive from Ohio to SC through pouring rain several times.

I can take it on and off myself, but it isn't easy. With two people it is easy, and it takes maybe 5 minutes with most of that time just turning a couple of knobs to release the cover from the hinges.

    It's about $1000 though - a little out of your $700 range.

    Retrax - it’s not 100% waterproof but I don’t have any complaints.

I bought this one back in December. Scored 15% off with free shipping so right at your price point.

Never had a truck before, so this is my first rodeo with a cover. But I really like it. I like the hard cover...I can set stuff on it without worry, a bit more secure, and it doesn't huff and puff like the soft ones going down the interstate. And being conservative, I really like the two security straps. And taking it completely off is an easy 5 minute one person job if needed. While I would prefer a lower profile (this one is pretty low for its design and the beveled edges give it an even slimmer look), I did not want to fuss with auxiliary rails and drain tubes of the low profile design. To me it was the best compromise across the board.

As for leaks, I don't believe anybody when they say they don't leak. But I would rate this one a 9.5/10 as when it is parked and after heavy rains, I do find some water in the back corners near the tail gate (I don't have that sealed so maybe it is the tail gate). I am talking less than 1/2 cup in each corner. If you look at your plastic bed caps, you will see gaps in those raised dot ridges. IMO that is where some of the water comes in towards the back..that little gap is just too small for the seal to fully compress and close it off, especially since there is no clamp on the middle panel. So yeah, not 100% waterproof, but I would not hesitate to haul anything in the bed during a rainstorm. And so far, it looks pretty much brand new. I do use a "color black" dressing on the edges every once in a while.

    I would buy it again.

If you were near Bend, Oregon, I have a 5 month old Undercover Armorflex that has the Line-x coating on the panels for $600. They are about $1000 new.

I had 3 different brands of hard folding tonneau covers in the last 2-3 years, Tonneau-Pro, Rough Country, and Undercover Armorflex. The Undercover Armorflex is really the best out there under $1000 because it has the Line-x coating on the panel where you don't have to worry about the finish on the panels flaking off over time, 5 year warranty, and you can stand the 3rd panel up to use more of the bed space.
