People suck

Woke up this morning and noticed my truck was hit . No clue if it was some kids in the neighborhood being dicks or if I got dinged in a parking lot and they drove off

That really sucks.

 

People are assholes. To be honest, I wonder if some of the morons who do this kind of thing actually realize they have done it. I mean, when a light turns green, look how long it takes people to respond and accelerate. People are absolutely clueless and oblivious these days.

I understand your frustration (justifiably rage, if that's the case).

I'm ranting. I hope insurance will fix you up, since the oblivious dipshit didn't leave a card, or even realize what happened if that were the case.

 

I also always wonder. Or maybe not realize it's so bad? Idk, I know I've tapped things before and definitely realized it, thankfully it was always my own stuff .
Yea I did report it, insurance seems to be taking care of it. Going on uninsured motorist and getting a quote Monday

 

That’s sucks that’s why I always park miles far away at grocery stores. But I got similar thing on my Rav4 and my best guess is I got it from somehow from garage while taking something out.

 

That is a crappy way to start a Friday - some people have lost all care and concern for others and this extends to others property as well -- sad sad day we live in..

I know it really sucks, but at the same time, many people were diagnosed with terminal illness or buried a child today. Perspective is different for all of us I guess. Maybe something on a camera somewhere if you really want to chase it down though. Good luck!

Every time I want to rage at a bad driver I force myself to think this way. Ended my road rage tendencies. Vast life experience really helps with empathy.

After seeing the countless Tesla videos I stopped believing in accidents and negligence. People are vindictive for no reason but they hate their own situation.

 

I hear y'all. I was sitting in my truck two days ago in a parking lot. A lady was parked next to me in a GMC 2500 Denali. She slung her door open and it slammed into the side of my truck. It hit so hard I could only just sit there. By the grace of God the door hit exactly on my back door handle only causing a scuff on it. If we both parked a few inched different would have had major dent and damage. All she could do was grovel saying "I'm so sorry". Apparently zero care...…zero awareness of her surroundings or size of her door.

 

That sucks to see. I saw you already talked to insurance but my suggestion was gonna be try a reputable paintless dent repair place near you. They will charge usually about the cost of your deductible(assuming its $500) to get a dent out like that one.

 

Sitting in my M3 at a grocery store parking lot, had kids repeatedly hitting my car playing with their door. Got out approached the mother and basically said WTF. She gave a half ass apology and left. Didn't give 2 fawks.

Again, sorry man. It sucks, I know.

 

Little League parking lot kids + foul balls ruined my last ride.

I no longer park in parking lots. It's parallel parking on curbs...out on the grass...in a field adjacent to a parking lot...WIDE-ASS oversize spaces not being used...or I take my wife's minivan. Full stop. My patience with the general public in this respect no longer exists.

Very few people respect others' property anymore; even fewer accept the responsibility for and consequences of their actions.

No need for dash cams. Just avoid all other vehicles.

DO NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT. IF YOU FILE A POLICE REPORT CARFUCK WILL FUCK YOU ON VALUE. How Carfax uses unaudited police reports which at times cost unsuspecting car owners diminished value and Carfax isn't liable unless the owners files suite is beyond me. Then Carshit isn't responsible for accidents missed or not reported is beyond me. CARFUCK ONLY GET INFORMATON FROM POLICE REPORTS. Repair shops and insurance supply no information to the crooks.

This is why it pisses me off when people wont return their buggies at stores. I came out and had a similar dent in my truck from a buggy that had rolled 100 yards down a walmart parking lot. If you ever see a dude bitching and collecting buggies then you will have found me.

 

I actually do appreciate this advice! The officer wouldn't do a police report anyways. Gave me a form I can fill out to give to insurance as a self report with no case#

It almost looks like a buggy hit it, I just haven't been anywhere with buggies is the problem. Honestly I can't figure out where this happened, I go very few places and never park near anyone. And when I do, I back into my parking spots so the rear would be so hard to hit compared to the front lol

 

As deep as that looks in the pics, I'd be guessing it was a kids handle bar or brake lever.

That bites man. I know how it feels, but after you have a vehicle get hit and run 3-5 times you start getting a little numb to it.
