It sounds like my V6 Lexus GS350 engine. Mostly due to a sound generator making the simulated engine noise. It's a physical noise maker in the engine bay. In my 2012 bmw 5 series i think it was pumped in over the speakers.

Could you turn the speaker off under the hood? What noise does it make then?

However, the amount of time I spent scouring every cranny of that vehicle looking for the reservoir before learning there was none....we don’t need to discuss that one lol:)

Wife's lexus nx has what amounts to a volume dimmer switch below the steering wheel. I usually just turn it all the way off

Also my wife's only pumps in sound when in sport mode or sport plus mode. When in eco or normal it doesn't do it.

On my 2015 gs350 is a physical resonator built into the air intake box I think. Aftermarket air boxes remove it or people find a way to plug/muffle it.

Hahaha. I did the exact same thing! I was fully prepared to flush the old power steering fluid out.

Tall order - even for Keith. V6 is hard to make sound good.

I had the dealer turn off my v8 sound today. Gotta admit it was nice to hear the rumble but didn't like that it wasn't authentic.

Just didn't want to start a new thread. I liked the sound but I prefer not to have it so I can hear potential issues that I wouldn't have heard otherwise. Just thought I would share.

I’m glad our model never had it so I can hear when I’m not in boost. Wish our model had a boost gauge. LOL

No charge and the engine sounds no different to me than any other truck I have had. It's really nice and smooth sounding to me.
