Purchased this truck with 150k miles on it a week ago. I ran ODBC checks on it and drove fine. Next morning I heard this noise on cold start. The noise goes away after car warms up and I get going. If I were to start the car again in 4 hours, I don’t hear it. It’s only when it’s been sitting overnight it seems. Should I see a mechanic? Thanks!

I can't get your video to play but I would guess it's the secondary air injection pumps starting when the engine is cold. Mine make a metallic hammer noise when they start but haven't ever been a problem.

The video won't play for me either, but I had the same issue. Only a noise when cold start with ambient temps below ~34F. I replaced the belt tensioner and idle pully. Put on a new belt. No more noise.

The sound in the video is similar to what I heard with the banging belt tensioner pully. It was louder from the passenger side wheel well for me.
