Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

I agree with George. Nobody on this thread should be surprised at the amount of time the plates are taking. Now...if I had already ordered (I'm waiting on BDS-lift plates to be engineered) I wouldn't like the wait either, but...again, there should be no surprise since there's been a long wait since the beginning of this thread I think.

He's a one man shop. Most fabricators take forever if they don't already have a pile of product on hand. I ordered a slimline bumper from SSO a couple years ago and waited 6 months for it. They had a backlog from Black Friday sales. I'm now looking at a C4 Fabrications bumper as a replacement, and in that thread people are saying they're waiting several months before shipment. I'm holding off till Black Friday again, so I'm prob guaranteed another 6 month wait. I wager those two companies have more than 1 employee.

I'm saying this to everyone - including myself - lay off the one-man-shop-dude. If you don't like the wait time, request a refund. Not many alternatives out there though.

I pointed out the time frame that had elapsed since I first inquired, at which point he said, it would be cut in two weeks.
I simply asked the status.


We know Tyler is busy and we know Tyler is doing his best.

As a consumer, do I not have the right to inquire about my product?
Do I not have the right to point out what I was clearly told and what has actually taken place?

So I jumped on this really quick. No issues with transfer case skid, super happy with plates. These plates are great, you might have to play with them a little bit, but zero issues on them.
He’s a vendor making a product we all want and busting his ass to make everyone happy. It started small and has blown up. Yay for him, relax and your orders will arrive. This is supply and demand in action. I hope sales go through the roof for this guy.

I waited somewhat patiently and received my cat shield and am happy I got them. Try building a house during a pandemic if you want to get into wait times and shortages. DAMHIK.

 

I didn’t complain. I made a funny. People laughed.

A huge continuing shout out to Tyler, who has innovated and managed to keep his cool throughout.

 

It isn’t easy, trust me… I get many angry messages a day asking where their orders are… I am no scam artist and I am really trying. If I told y’all how much I have spent on plates in the last month…

For those with a gap between the Z bracket and rear plate, a 1/4” spacer will help on each side. I was able to get this off of Amazon to make the spacers.

The price of aluminum is just going too high… am raising prices on aluminum only October 4th.

 

Irony:

Tyler begins stealing cats in order to fulfill his orders for cat protection plates.

 

I’m kinda curious if you know if your aluminum comes from the US or where? My son Works at a aluminum smelter but it is being shut down.

 

So far I have avoided China aluminum, but the prices are going through the roof. I am glad I have built up a relationship with the metal sellers in Houston because I don’t know if I could get the quantities I get if I didn’t

 

Everyone knows the reality that all things are going up. And it’s going to keep happening. Tyler needs to raise the price or he won’t make money doing this. You either pay or you don’t.

 

So, I am updating pricing today, the price is jumping quite a bit… here are the new prices, remember, only aluminum prices are going up, I didn’t want to raise prices like this, but the market for aluminum is so bad…

3/16 aluminum
Front cat plate $450
Rear cat plate $300

1/4 aluminum
Front cat plate $600
Rear cat plate $450

Also for those ordering the tapered washers, the bolts at the front of the front cat plate are going from 5/8 to 1/2

 

As orders continue to decline, I feel like this will soon become a side gig and I will need to get a real job again. I am going to need to dip into savings to pay for the next aluminum batch, I am barely going to make any money on any of the plates

 

Maybe step out beyond the forum(s) and look into purchasing google search priority for Tundra Catalytic Converter theft.

If theft isn't slowing down, then demand shouldn't either.

How long is the wait currently if ordered today?

 

Steel is inside a month, aluminum is about a 3 week turnaround from when I order

For those who are being impatient, as someone mentioned 2 days ago, I recommend to make up your minds to wait around 100 days. I would recommend Tyler to give the same information when receiving each order since apparently always "something" happens that delays orders and 3 weeks or 1.5 months is not even close to the actual waiting time, which makes many of us despair. I wouldn't say a refund would solve that problem as time is money and no one likes to waste either one.
I assure you that once you receive your plates you will forget how long you waited. Be patient, the wait is worth it.

 

My order (aluminum) was first placed on 6/25. Still waiting.
