Dealer just called me as I have a refundable deposit on 2022 while I decide on 2021 or 2022.
Prcing info for Canada anyway is expected Nov 21 (subject to change of course) Maybe they will adjust price based on # of initial orders .

There are no orders. Initial launch will be allocations. Pricing is already known, it's just not publicly known.

Posting prices a week before they are for sale would suck

At this point that marketing wouldn't be shocking.

Hey all. I was called by my dealer last week to take my order. I put a deposit down back in May so I was at the front of the line. I told them what I wanted and they placed the order - there was no talk about allocations, they just asked me what I wanted.

    To much to list:)
Locally they have a 22 Sequoia msrp for 65k bare Sequioa. They also have listed a TRD 4 Runner Trails Edition for 43k if I remember correctly, and another TRD off-road Premium for 49k and a 22 Camry sxe for 36k. All of them are pretty bare bones stuff. But they are not at the dealership. But they are coming,,,,,,? Sometime!!!!:)

was just told a 22 4Runner Trd Off-road is supposed to be in on the 21st. I am assuming of October

I would say no,Customer ordering isnt happening.
Perhaps a dealer order is more accurate term so they have vehicles to showcase
In my case as I had deposit and was first in to talk to them.. I live 3 minutes away .
They were going to order both of the trucks i was comsidering TRD sport and TRD Offroad in Blueprint ..What they said to me is the owner wanted the Business manager to order 7 .BM figured he may as well order something an actual customer wants rather than a shot in the dark..No price yet (supposed to be Nov 21) with Vehicles on the Lot Dec 21.
IF I Dont like the price then i am under no obligation to buy it...I do feel like Toyota is prolonging the process but i guess they have their reasons.. I will be pis-sed off if its a piece of high price junk and i miss out on the last of the 2021

Fuel economy is the 80% of the reason i havent bought the 2021 .gas has been up to
1.79 per litre on Vancouver island Thats $6.89 US gallon

I was skeptical so I asked them to print me an official confirmation or something. They did and it’s called a “Sold Order” - it has my name, address, model number, bed length, cab selection, colour and order date (which they set as the date I put my deposit down earlier this year). It’s all in have an order number as well on this sheet. There is no price however, but I also haven’t signed on the dotted line anywhere. I’m not sure if they were allocated a number a vehicles and that this one will be part of their original allocation or if this is separate, but the order is in.

I find that so weird they can order and get allocation but price isn't known. Does Toyota always slow play the river?

Maybe a Business manager or ex can chime in on the Toyota system..
There is probably a logarithm that determines how many units a dealership can order (or a max allocation )based on sales volume ,etc etc. -The dealer doesnt care how much the units cost..They may not want a lot of the high end ones though..

i did learn a tidbit... the dealership gets
.5 percent profit when the unit lands on the lot..
One of the reasons dealerships dont swap vehicles around

They Swap the crap out of them.
My friend that is a GM has done well in this terrible time by dealer trading for most every car he has sold in the last year pretty much.
When they allocate them they are often wrong about the turnover preferences at a dealer and one dealer can easily get stuck with cars they will never sell and there is an insane side business between dealers trading them around to get any inventory at all, always has been and always will be.

Perhaps ,GM has a different payment structure..I am only going by what the Business Manager at my local Toyota dealer said ..
We all know how trustworthy any source related to sales can be .
He added that The final destination of vehicles is often changed pre delivery when in the “Pipeline” and not yet delivered.

My friend is General Manger of a Toyota Store not a GM store.
    They swap them around constantly.
