Hey everyone, I don’t know how I missed this for so many years but found this today. If you open the drives door it is on the backside of the lower front fender. Looks like it is collecting dirt and leaves from the windshield cowling. Guess I will be cleaning this out from now on!

Nice find! That's just asking for rust.

I cleaned mine out a while ago, did you find a better way to access that spot other than the way you have it pictured?

No that seems like the only way to access it. After I cleaned as much as possible I took the garden hose to it and flushed all the dirt out! I was thinking the same thing, it is going to rust and then rot down the road.

Ya I figured since mine had so much dirt that it would just stay damp and would rather make sure it ran out. Plus I think going up a hill or just the wind, will dry it out. I am thinking about spraying fluid film in there, but not sure if I want anything for the dirt to stick to. Probably will just leave it and see.

Mine was full too! Even had it built 6" going upward. I suppose this is coming from the fender opening next to the A-Pillar under the hood? That is full a lot of times and I am guilty of using the leaf blower there.

Does a leaf blower actually work? I can see that making a bigger mess, blowing wet chunks of dirt around.

I lift the hood sometimes and blow all the leaves off. But if this is the same channel, it would blow trash to the OP’s spot.

I did the passenger side this afternoon. It had a lot leaves and it was packed with mud. I do often park under trees at the house and the camp. Gets hot here in the summer. Thanks OP for sharing. I am looking into blocking that opening at the A-Pillar.
